Raising Awareness about Human Trafficking Stop Traffick began as a grassroots effort in Chicago to help victims of trafficking.
Millions of people worldwide are affected by human trafficking—what some call “modern-day slavery.” In most parts of the world, human trafficking, tied to broader issues of poverty, corruption, and political transition, disproportionately affects women and children.
In 2009, our benefit at Chicago's beautiful Intuit Gallery raised funds for an orphanage called Goutte d'Eau in Cambodia that rescues and rehabilitates child victims of human trafficking. More info at www.gouttedeau.org
In 2010 we also raised fund for The Salvation Army's Promise Program (Partnership to Rescue our Minors from Sexual Exploitation), which runs a residential home for women and girls who are victims of domestic, commercial sexual exploitation. More info at www.sapromise.org
In 2011 we raised money to support Goutte d'Eau and CAASE (Chicago Alliance Against Sexual Exploitation). In 2012 we held an event that raised funds to support Goutte d'Eau's work in Cambodia. www.gouttedeau.org
