(Ben Stroh) is a versatile Chicago-based DJ and co-founder of the illmeasures collective. He is known for seamlessly blending downtempo, hip hop, broken beat, and house. Active since 1996, he co-founded The Freakeasy Chicago underground party series and has supported artists like DJ Krush, Four Tet, Bonobo, Nightmares on Wax, Thievery Corporation, Nicolas Jaar. Tricky, Jazzanova, Jamie XX, Amon Tobin, James Murphy, DJ Food, The Herbaliser, and Quantic to name a few. Striz has performed at just about every Chicago music venue and every underground loft/warehouse party in addition to performing at festivals.

DJ Warp (Brian Keigher) has become a staple international and electronic music DJ playing at various clubs, venues, festivals in the USA and UK. He has been a resident DJ at a few legendary dance clubs including Smart Bar, Sonoteque, and Shelter, and has been lucky to share the bill and support some of the world’s top touring talents of many styles from dance, world, jazz and hip hop artists including; Prince, Four Tet, Manu Chao, Baaba Maal, Basement Jaxx, just to name a few. Brian continues to serve as a music consultant and events curator and looks to use DJing as another form of musical expression in an effort to continue his life mission of turning people onto damn good music.

(cousins Richard Bevan and Josh Doherty) are a UK-based electronic duo known for early IDM and later acid house/techno. They were the first act on Skam Records’ SMAK sublabel (2001). Also specialists in jacking acid house & techno from Glasgow and London - veteran producers and DJs, in action since the late 90’s. Josh also DJs around the world solo as Posthuman.

Ok this showcase is completely nuts 😱 A celebration of old-school Chicago punk is at hand!

DJ-ing this event: the legendary Aadam Jacobs - who’s gone viral recently for his 10,000 live recordings of Chicago music shows (including pre-teen spirit Nirvana) (see recent documentary “Melomaniac”) - the legendary Brian Peterson who booked and promoted for the Fireside Bowl forever (and will be featuring his insane collection of posters and flyers at the event), Neil Sandler who played in seminal Midwest punk band Gauge, currently in Rollo Tomasi and Adam Norden of American Heritage **king_heritage .

Further, to add insult to plenty of injury, these completely insane people we know who know those guys above – who’ve co-curated our You Will Die exhibitions, released electronic music on our label , played in Chicago post-rock legends Ghosts N Vodka, and have also played in that Chicago metal band American Heritage – are in a punk band called NIXD and they’ve got a brand new record they are releasing on their record label XCHCX. Join us the day it releases (!!!) for a sort of birthday party for a thing just born.

Come join us for a good hang. Everyone is welcome, curious and OG alike. Let’s make friends. We all need more.
