Sometimes I pinch myself that I get to do this as my job. That I have a successful business photographing sweet couples and families in this beautiful city. But, I worked hard for this.. many, many late nights shooting and editing.. figuring it all out while teaching at two universities and raising a baby. Shooting thousands and thousands and thousands of images to understand how people relate to me behind the camera, how to get what I need, what they need, how to see the light, how to shoot in every kind of light (thanks for that Chicago), how to wait for the moment, how to know when there’s a moment to wait for, how to see real connection between people. I think you can balance making artistic images and capturing authentic emotion with wedding photography and that is always my objective. And I’ve been lucky enough to have clients find me that think the same 🖤
