Katie reached out at the beginning of the year to setup some time to shoot. As we workshopped out the “what,” our chats reminded me where I was a decade ago.

I was stuck. Stuck in corporate infrastructures working on things I didn’t care about and surrounded by people who equally had no desire to be there. More than an exit, I needed a new trajectory. At the time, all I could do was write down what it was that I wanted to make and the types of people I wanted to create with.

Without specifics on the what and the who, I kept things conceptual.

“I want to make things I’m proud of - I want to make things that impact others - And I want to work with passionate people that have clear visions of how they want to see the world”

I don’t know Katie that well, but what I do know is she has a definite love of her craft and a desire to build the things she wants to see.

So thanks for making some art with me Katie and reminding me that I’m on the right path. 🫶🏻

Some Balloons

Halle messaged me a few months ago and pitched something different. Apart from finding inspiration images and settling on a few key elements, this was an undetermined shoot.

I don’t always know how photos are going turn out, but if I lead with curiosity and space for the unexpected, there’s no failing. If somethings not working, I either sit with it or I move. Time and space will always make the choice for us.

All that said, I love when people come with ideas. It gives me a chance to challenge my eye and collaborate in fresh ways. Been sitting on these photos for a while, but this whimsy was fun. Thanks Halle.

Playfully Serious

If you were ever trapped in an avalanche, Taylor would be the one leading a search and rescue mission. And then the first person to throw a snowball at you when she realized you were okay.

Able to code switch from clowning to a cocktail dress on a dime. Likely the smartest cookie in the room, but would never make you feel dumb or left out. Always a ray of sunshine. Which makes it fitting to have the clouds as a her backdrop.

Such a cerebral coach, athlete and human being. Everything this lady does is executed with so much attention to detail and grace. She. Knows. Her. Stuff. I can’t think of anyone better that I would copy answers from during an exam. There are no silly questions and she’s not shy about sharing knowledge. If you’ve ever had the opportunity to learn from this woman you know the down to earth confidence she wields. A gentle force to be in the same room with and leaves everyone feeling all the more empowered.

Leanna, thanks for your patience every time I clearly did not listen to your instruction 5 seconds prior 😂

A mace warrior, an eagle on a lyra, a knight with gilded locks and an all around badass.

She coaches at the gym I attend and honestly was one of the reasons why I became a member. Always warm and inviting and makes everyone feel included. Hands down, one of the coolest most unique personalities I’ve ever had the pleasure to meet. She’s so at home with her passions and perspectives in life. I think more people could learn from how she carries herself.

In a world that encourages us to be another cog in a machine, be like Paulina.
