I know this is all over the news, but I felt like I needed to do my part. Nancy Guthrie is missing and a video of her likely abductor has been released. Please call the police if you recognize this person.

Watching the video, watching him.... it enrages you and it frightens you. You see this person at the door, and you know he does not have good intentions... you know what he is likely about to do. And his look-- the gloves, the mask the attitude, that evil vibe you can feel coming from him... such a contrast to the loving Nancy. It is this contrast that is most disturbing... I feel like this situation epitomizes the ultimate question, "Why do bad things happen to good people?"

Snow, snow, snow is what is on my mind! Working on reformatting/redesigning the first edition of my short story collection, Peter's Moonlight Photography and Other Stories. Brainstorming a new cover for it! On final draft of new novel... takes about one week per chapter since I work full time as a teacher. Should be done in June.

With my new job, I've been debating what time to get up to do my writing. I cannot write afterwork... too many things in my head-- will discuss another day. Just read this interesting article about what time to wake up that I wanted to share with all of you...

I am now an English teacher at a center that helps adults get their high school diploma. I love it! Just read Tell-Tale Heart by Edgar Allan Poe with my group. Do you think the narrator actually killed the old man? My students were frustrated that it was not clear... that it could be debated.

I have had and continue to have people close to me struggle with alcohol addiction. Some have died from it. I watched this documentary on addiction and thought it was excellent. Some of the most important take aways is that a) through brain imaging, you can see this is a brain disease 2) it is wrong that a person has to hit "rock bottom" till they get well.

Watch it. It is a little old but the information is still relevant and told by renowned experts in the field. They mentioned some cutting-edge meds being given in countries like France for addiction... I will be doing further research to see if they have yet been approved in the U.S. Balfocan is one of them.

One of the hardest decisions for me as an author is my ending. I have about ten chapters left of the current novel I am writing and I am debating the direction for one of the main characters. I know so many people want a happy ending and that makes it hard... because sometimes the story does not want to go in that direction. In writing it the positive way, you are making fans happy but not being authentic to the story.....

I watched a documentary on Netflix about a child/children born in Brazil with two heads. The doctors noted the child/children and I keep saying both explained that the child/children has two heads with distinct personalities and some shared organs and one heart.

I found it interesting because it brings up a lot of questions about ethics. The documentary had interviews with medical professionals about them not being able to separate the children because of their entwined systems. Maybe they could... but one would have to die and both have the right to life. They both equally have the right to live.

The other part I found interesting is that though this is not the typical body form for a human, each child was so beautiful and expressive-- they just happened to be connected.
