A special part of summer is camp.
There is no better basketball camp by a professional basketball player than and his team.
It’s well run, community focused and everyone is treated to the same, great experience.
Year 5 is around the corner and it’s going to be the biggest one yet.
In the meantime, let me take you back to Year 1 and a memory made with 3-time champion Udonis Haslem and the campers.
See you soon, campers!

Rest in peace, Kyle Busch.
Last year, I had a special experience at thanks to National Association of Hispanic Journalists and .
I captured quite a bit but when I saw Kyle Busch’s Slurpee car, I had to take a shot. Then at the end of the race, I was walking on the track to get to the media room before a bit of rain came in and ran into Busch so I snapped a few more.
Such a loss for NASCAR. Prayers for his family.

Spoke with Dakota Rouse, a sports psychologist, for this week’s Xtra Time Podcast episode and we talked about this very topic.
Athletes spend so much time in sports that their identities are so tied to it- very little is done to help with the transition out.
And that needs to change.

Max Strus played key minutes in the Cleveland Cavaliers series clinching Game 7 win over Toronto Raptors.
He had 12 points with eight rebounds (four offensive), five assists, two steals, a block, and a game-high +20 in the win.
I saw this tweet below and took to my own social Twitter account to tweet:
“Chicago Hoops had a big class Max Strus’ senior season.
Here are just the Illinois guys that made ESPN’s Top 100 in 2014.
1) Jahlil Okafor (Whitney Young)
3) Cliff Alexander (Curie)
22) Keita Bates-Diop (University)
25) Tyler Ulis (Marian Catholic)
34) Paul White (Whitney Young)
66) Vic Law (St. Rita)
98) Josh Cunningham (Morgan Park)
Strus was nice then but flew under the radar. Wild to think about how strong of a NBA/professional career he’s had compared to the names above.”
