A due date is only an estimate of when the baby might be born. Most babies are not born on their exact due date.
* About 5% of babies are born on their due date.
* Many babies arrive 1–2 weeks before or after the due date.
* A full-term pregnancy is generally considered anywhere from 37 to 42 weeks.

🩸 Placenta Calcification 🩸
Did you know that the white spots sometimes seen on a placenta are called calcifications? These are small calcium deposits that can form as the placenta grows and matures during pregnancy.
In many cases, placental calcification is a normal change that happens as the placenta ages, especially near the end of pregnancy and close to the due date. Every placenta reflects the important role it played in supporting and nourishing a baby throughout pregnancy. ❤️

MECONIUM!
Meconium is the earliest stool of a newborn infant. Unlike later f***s, meconium is composed of materials ingested during the period the infant is in the uterus: intestinal epithelial cells, lanugo, mucus, amniotic fluid, bile, and water. It is typically sterile and, unlike later f***s, does not contain bacteria. Meconium has a tar-like consistency and is dark greenish in color. It is usually passed during the first 24-48 hours after birth. If the baby is stressed during labor, it might pass meconium while still in the womb, leading to meconium aspiration.
