Some buyers ask what effect snow has on the inspection. The snow impacts the home inspection in multiple ways. The roof is more difficult to inspect. If completely covered we can not inspect it at all. Also snow covers sidewalks, patios, grading, and other items that are easy to inspect on a regular day. All the Way Home Inspections works in all weather conditions, but the snow does impact the process. So if you have heavy snow on the day of your home inspection consider scheduling a reinspection once the weather permits so the inspection process can be as thorough as possible.

Typically smoke detectors should be changed every 10 years. Carbon Monoxide detectors should be changed every 5 years. When was the last time you changed yours?

Did you recently paint your home to put it on the market? If so do yourself and the buyer a favor and be sure to replace all the cover plates for light switches and outlets. This is a minor detail, but should always be the final touch to complete your painting and keep safety in mind.
