Empowering kids through innovation & inclusion 💙 Founded by Isabella Duarte Crespo—teen entrepreneur with Spina Bifida; innovator, speaker, and advocate for the disability community.
Me at the Pitbull “I am Back” Tour vibing to Give Me Everything… 🎶😂
…and then suddenly realizing this lyric basically describes my entire business model.
“Turn a negative into a positive.”
Honestly, that’s Hidden Innovations in one sentence. 💙
What started as challenges connected to disability, accessibility, and medical needs eventually became the reason I started creating adaptive solutions for others.
Funny how inspiration sometimes finds you in the middle of a concert. ✨

Did you know there’s an underground train beneath the U.S. Capitol? 🚇🏛️
While in Washington DC for Rare Disease Week on Capitol Hill, I got to explore the Capitol tunnels and ride the underground train with congressional interns.
Such a cool behind-the-scenes experience—and an unforgettable part of an important week of advocacy for the rare disease community 💛

Earlier this year, I had the opportunity to attend Rare Disease Day at the NIH in Washington DC 💛
The event brings together patients, researchers, advocates, and families to raise awareness about rare diseases and the real impact they have on people’s lives.
One of the most inspiring parts was hearing personal stories from patients like Lindsay Guentzel, who shared how a clinical trial helped put her disease into remission, and Olivia Kania’s family, who talked about how research and partnerships led to life-changing treatment options for juvenile myositis.
Moments like this are such an important reminder of why advocacy, research, and clinical trials matter so much. Behind every treatment and breakthrough is a real person, a real family, and real hope ✨

Earlier this spring, I visited the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington DC.
Seeing all the names was already emotional, but finding veterans with the same last name as mine made the experience feel even more personal.
Today on Memorial Day, I’m thinking about the people and families behind those names and honoring the sacrifices they made ❤️

The Disability Leadership Banquet at University of Notre Dame was such a special night 💛
It was amazing being surrounded by people working to make campus more inclusive and supportive for students with disabilities through groups like Access-ABLE, Accessibility Leadership Fellows, Active Minds, Supporting Transitions After Returning, and the Department of Disability Advocacy. We also got to hear from Notre Dame alum Matt Swinton and learn more about the impact he and his family continue to make through the Swinton Scholars Program.
I was honored to receive a Mentee of the year award and cannot thank my mentor, Devine, enough for how much she’s helped me during my first year at Notre Dame.

This Mother’s Day feels extra special now that I’m finally back home with my mom for summer 💛
Happy Mother’s Day!
Milan is beautiful… but not built for everyone ♿️
Traveling here made one thing really clear - accessibility is still a huge challenge. Uneven streets, stairs, limited access… things most people don’t notice can completely change the experience.
This isn’t about complaining. It’s about starting a conversation.
Because cities should be designed for everyone, not just some.
Accessibility isn’t extra - it’s essential. 💛

One of the best parts of Rare Disease Week on Capitol Hill was the people. Parents, researchers, and advocates all came together to share stories and experiences. It reminded me how powerful this community is when we support each other.
