Hope was never lost — it was just waiting to be reawakened. 🌸
As the show's anniversary is here, I can’t help but look back at the inspiring event we created. This was the first event of its kind — using floral design to shed light on assault and open a path to healing. Through the art of flowers, we gave a voice to what is often too painful to say out loud.
�Through beauty, we honored strength, grief, healing, and resilience.
Reawakening Hope was more than a floral runway show.
�It was a journey through the unspoken:�✨ Innocence — the pure, beautiful world before trauma.
�🌑 Trauma — the dark moment when everything changes.
�🌟 Survivor — the fierce, beautiful fight to live, to love, and to hope again.
To the survivors:�You are seen.�You are heard.�You are powerful.

I didn’t realize the camera went off until I was looking through the images on my phone. What we consider mistakes are often the most amazing things that can happen to us. We strive to have the “perfect” shot however what is not “perfect” is often absolutely amazing. You never know when you will see beauty! Stop trying to be what you think others want to see and be the absolute best version of what you are. Because you are perfect in every way!

BTC had the honor to design a floral art piece when Fleurs de Villes was in Chicago. The theme was "voyage" and our global depiction was of Thailand. BTC was inspired by the beauty of the culture and fashion. The inspiration was endless.
That being said…. you our friends know that BTC does not create any floral art without a social message. If you take a closer look at the floral art messages will appear……
There are people who hide their true gender throughout their lives. Making sure they do everything to fit into their birth mold. They hide their true self from the world which causes endless pain and suffering in their lives. If we truly take a closer look at what lies beneath, we will see their true self. Looking closer at our beautiful floral art piece you will notice the men’s pants below the dress as well as the masculine shoes being worn. You will also notice the blood red umbrella not shielding the “public" individual from the environment but instead it sits on the ground shielding/hiding the truth from the world about who the “inner” individual is. Our installation represents the male gender hiding below the female-born gender. It represents the pain and the courage to begin to be oneself. It represents loving oneself regardless of what society loves.
Remember first impressions are not always true impressions. After all should we not just celebrate the human experience for what it individually is for each human?!? Why should a human hide their true self in fear?!? Do not hide who you are…..you are perfection in every way.
Be The Color pays tribute to those who have the courage to be yourself no matter what and we pay tribute to those still finding the courage to be your true self. We believe in and love all of you. You are the COLOR!
Side note: this art piece is not to be seen as a negative vision of the people of Thailand. This was the country selected for BTC to be inspired by. We would have done the same type of floral art regardless of the country. No matter how free a country may be with these rights, it does not equate the individuals feeling the same freedom within themselves.

Reawakening Hope Segment 2
Title: trauma
Description: this segment is all about what happens at the moment of sexual assault. It is all about losing hope and everything bad happening to you. It is all about living in the moment of the sexual assault and the sense of all joy lost of no future possibilities of happiness. It is all about pain both physical and mental that does not go away. Is it all about losing childhood wonder. It is all about grief. It is all about loss of trust. It is all about everything painful in the world and the sense of nowhere to go for help. It is about reliving the moment time and time again.
Design: the attire was all gray tones. The floral was done in a burgundy, red, deep purple, gray and black to show the pain associated with trauma.
