Life Is Work will be closed today in observance of May Day.
Today, we honor the legacy of labor, resistance, and the ongoing fight for dignity, safety, and equity for all—especially those most pushed to the margins.
Our leadership team will be on the ground at Union Park, standing in solidarity, raising our voices, and showing up for our communities.
We’ll be back Monday. Until then—stay safe, stay grounded, and stay in the fight. ✊🏾

Voting rights aren’t just policy—they shape our schools, our housing, our safety, and our future.
This , we’re breaking down how recent Supreme Court decisions impact our communities—and what we can do about it.
Stay informed. Stay ready. Stay engaged.
Because access matters. Because we matter.

Vaccinations save lives. Period.
Join us April 30th from 9:30–11 AM at 600 N Cicero Ave for free vaccines, including Flu, COVID, and Mpox.
Pull up, protect yourself, protect your community.
Life is happening in real time—and so is the need.
On Chicago’s West Side, our community is navigating more than what most people see. Food insecurity. Housing instability. Gaps in care that shouldn’t exist. And still—we show up. For each other. Every single day.
This is what care looks like. This is what dignity looks like.
And it only continues because people believe in it. *link in bio to donate*

We’ve Been Given a Powerful Opportunity!
This moment is bigger than us.
Every dollar you give is being matched—doubling the impact, doubling the care, doubling the possibility.
Together, we’re building a sanctuary rooted in dignity, history, and love.

**WE CAN'T BUILD ALONE!**
Out here in these streets—because the work doesn’t always happen behind a desk.
Our CEO and Deputy Director are showing up, making sure our programs are funded, our doors stay open, and our people have what they need to eat, live, and sustain themselves. This is what care looks like in real time.
Black women have always carried communities on their backs—often without recognition, always with intention. And Chicago? Chicago needs more Black women leaders who move with this kind of purpose, urgency, and love.
If you’ve been looking for a way to stand with this kind of work—now is the time. What we’re building takes all of us.
This is Life Is Work. By us, for us all. ❤️🖤💚
