Our basement flooded last night. Bob and I spent most of the morning trying to figure out what we'll do to stop it from happening again. We also got all of the water out and did some things to mitigate it, as we might be having some more storms tonight. We're thankful that there wasn't much down there to be damaged and thankful that no fires started(with all the exposed wires).

And for now, while the sun is out and the kids want to swim, we're going to swim 😊

This was a challenge as new homeowners that we were slightly anticipating, but I think the bigger challenge is in working together and reminding each other to breathe. Reminding each other that this could have been much worse. Reminding each other that not every day has to be all work and no play. And that after a solid 3 weeks of working to clean/renovate, it's ok to sit back and relax for a few hours. While we, quite literally, have a calm before another storm.
