Hoppy Biscuits

I've been delaying this post for too long, because like most, I hate goodbyes.

So here it is: Hoppy Biscuits is closing up shop.

HB has been such a meaningful chapter in my life. It wasn’t just a business—it was a lifeline.

HB gave me purpose when I was laid off during the pandemic.

HB brought together some of the things I love most—dogs (naturally), community (always), sustainability (doy), and beer (yes, beer)—and turned them into something real, something that mattered.

HB made me into an entrepreneur and enabled me to build something from the ground up.

HB forced me to learn things I’d rather have avoided—things I had convinced myself I couldn't do (hello, finance and baking). Showing me that yes, I can work with numbers.

HB opened my eyes to the world of branding and the creativity developing a brand has to offer.

But, most importantly, HB introduced me to so many of you—an incredible, rich community that I’ll never forget.

So here’s to you. To everyone who bought a bag of treats, shared our story, or simply believed in what we were trying to do. You’ve touched my heart more than you’ll ever know, and I’ll carry those memories with me forever.

Goodbyes are, as we all know, awful. Especially when you’ve put so much of yourself into something. But sometimes, you have to let go in order to make room for whatever comes next.

Please continue to support small businesses—they’re the heartbeat of our communities. We will always be cheering them on. 💛

Chicago, thanks for always rolling out the welcome mat for us. Together, we're making a difference by choosing products that keep spent grain out of landfills. Every time we're out and about with you, we're reminded of how lucky we are to call this city home.

There's something truly special about the bond you form with your regular customers, especially as a small business owner. Chuck and his mom, Patty, were one of my first. Their monthly orders were always a highlight, and upon delivering the goods, I'd often be greeted by Chuck's enthusiastic tail wag and a quick ear scratch. He was the ultimate custopup.

A few weeks ago, Patty shared the heartbreaking news that Chuck had crossed the rainbow bridge. To honor his memory, she ordered a portrait of him as a puppy, capturing the innocence and joy of his younger days.

Chuck, I feel even closer to you now having seen you as a youngster and will deeply miss our monthly meets.

You were a good one. Rest easy, buddy 💛

Thank DOG ALMIGHTY—there's another Yappy Hour coming up! This time around, the action will go down Sunday, August 18th at Parson's Andersonville from 3-6pm. There will be treats for adults 21 and over (complimentary Javi's Tequila Soda) along with pup portraits, swag, and of course treats by yours truly!
