About Dr. Todd Bivins
Dr. Todd Bivins was born in Richmond, Virginia where he spent the first 25 years of his life. He is married to Jennifer Payne Bivins and they have three children: John Harrison Bivins, "Jack", who was born in 1999; Alexandra "Alex" Payne Bivins born in 2001 and Lily Taylor Bivins born in 2004. The Bivins family lives in Suffolk. Dr. Bivins is a 1988 graduate of Highland Springs High School in Highland Springs, Virginia. From 1988-1991, he attended Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia, where he majored in biology and earned early acceptance into dental school. From 1991-1995, Dr. Bivins attended the Medical College of Virginia, School of Dentistry, where he received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree with honors. Dr. Bivins continued his specialty training in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics at the University of Detroit Mercy (1995-1997), where he received his certificate as an orthodontic specialist as well as a Master’s degree in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics. Dr. Bivins is a helicopter pilot, and also an accomplished artist whose work has won several awards. Specializing in a technique known as photorealism, Dr. Bivins’ art has been displayed in museums, including the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts.
