Sequoyah Fund is a Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) serving the Eastern Band of Cherokee and the seven western counties of North Carolina. We offer a variety of loan products for new and existing small businesses, and we provide ongoing training and consulting for businesses throughout Western North Carolina.

The Office of the Principal Chief is now taking applications for 4 food truck vendors at the 2022 Kituwah Celebration on May 21, 2022. The owner of the food truck must be an enrolled member of the E.B.C.I. or the spouse of an enrolled member of the E.B.C.I. to be entered into the Food Truck Drawing for this event. Applications can be picked up at the Cherokee Indian Fairgrounds from Lisa Frady. All applications are due Friday, March 25, 2022, by 4:00pm. The Sequoyah Fund will be sponsoring a new Toastmasters Club that will meet regularly in Cherokee.
Toastmasters International is an organization dedicated to helping members improve public speaking skills, build leadership skills, and network with others in a small, supportive environment.
The club will be open to anyone and has no age limit.
Sequoyah Fund will pay the first year’s membership fee for all charter club members.
The first meeting will be held at 5 p.m. on Thursday, March 17. It will be a “demonstration meeting” to let participants see what happens at a typical Toastmasters meeting. While typical meetings involve writing and delivering speeches, no one will be expected to speak at this initial meeting.
