Cheney Cat Connection

Let me say something that some people may not want to hear…
🚨 RESCUE IS NOT A COMPETITION. 🚨
If you're in rescue and you're worried about being better than another rescue, saving more animals than someone else, getting more attention, or making sure everyone knows what you did…
You're in it for the wrong reason.
There are no winners in rescue. There are no trophies. No medals. No prize for taking the hardest case or having the most resources.
There are simply animals who are scared, sick, abandoned, injured, or forgotten — and they need people willing to help them.
Another rescue helping an animal doesn't take anything away from you. Another person getting recognition doesn't diminish what you've done. There is room for all of us when the goal is truly the animals.
Support each other. Share resources. Celebrate the lives saved — even when you weren't the one who saved them.
Because rescue isn't about who gets the credit.
It's about who gets saved. 🐾❤️
And if you can't genuinely be happy that an animal was helped simply because someone helped it, then maybe it's time to ask yourself why you're really doing rescue.

Tonight’s Trapping Update!

Tonight was a HUGE success! We trapped 11 cats who will be heading to SpokAnimal tomorrow for the monthly MASH clinic.

We are incredibly grateful for these spay/neuter spots, sponsored by a local company and made available to us through SpokAnimal. Opportunities like this allow us to keep making a real difference for community cats.

For these 11 cats, this means no more litters, no more fighting over mates, and fewer injuries and diseases. 11 cats who will no longer be contributing to the cycle of overpopulation. ❤️

Thank you to everyone who follows, shares, donates, volunteers, and supports us. We truly couldn’t do this without our community. 🐾

One more colony cat has injury to neck. Had to use unconventional methods to trap her. ( she went from tote to carrier immediately so all is well) !

We are working with vet to figure out what is causing injury as all have been on the same side in almost the same spot which kinda rules out attacks by other animals.
This little lady is at vet getting care now.
Please if anyone can help with even the smallest of donations it would mean a lot.
Cheney Vet Clinic can take donations over the phone made directly to care for Cheney cats.

Thank you everyone who has helped we greatly appreciate it.
