"I know a bank where the wild thyme blows,
Where oxlips and the nodding violet grows,
Quite over-canopied with luscious woodbine,
With sweet musk-roses and with eglantine"
We celebrate the Midsummer Solstice today, complete with roaming performance excerpts from Shakespeare's beloved A Midsummer Night's Dream. This sleeping moon is Mexican Pink Opal wrapped in oxidized sterling with starry accents of white silver. Join us today and celebrate the Summer Solstice.
Mexican Pink Opal is a naturally occurring variety of common opal prized for its soft blush tones that range from pale peach to rich rosy pink. Most Mexican Pink Opal is mined in the volcanic regions of central Mexico, where silica-rich water slowly filled cavities within ancient rock formations over millions of years, creating this delicate gemstone. Throughout history, pink opal has been associated with emotional healing, compassion, and peace. Many crystal traditions refer to it as the "Stone of Resolution" because it is believed to encourage the release of past heartaches and invite renewed hope and self-love. Its soothing color has made it a favorite among those seeking a sense of tranquility and balance. Legends and modern metaphysical beliefs suggest that Pink Opal carries the energy of the heart, fostering kindness, emotional openness, and gentle communication.

Think - nice quiet morning, a gentle breeze and the sound of water lapping at your feet. Can't think of anything better and Blue Sea Sediment Jasper has it all. "Top Tomato" takes the stage today and you get to pick your favorite Bloody Mary cocktail, a tough choice but always a good time. Sea Sediment Jasper is a captivating stone often found in the deserts of the American Southwest, Africa, and parts of Asia, where mineral-rich waters once flowed through ancient seabeds. Its ocean-like colors are created by natural jaspers fused with minerals, forming striking patterns that resemble waves, sand, and coral reefs.
Throughout history, jasper has been honored as a stone of protection and wisdom—carried by travelers and sailors alike to guard against storms both on the seas and within the heart. Legends say it calmed restless waters and gave courage to those venturing into the unknown. Spiritually, Sea Sediment Jasper is believed to be a stone of stability and peace, bringing harmony to emotions and balance during times of stress. Its marbled blues are said to soothe like gentle waves, while its earthy tones remind us to stay grounded and strong.

It's been a bit gloomy lately so this rock crystal quartz might lift the spirits a little. AAA quartz, clear as can be and cut to catch every spark of light. These are so very glamourous, rock star quarlity! Perfect for any of our performers at Karaoki at the market today, always a fun day! Come by a belt out a tune or two and have some fun!
In metaphysical traditions, rock crystal is often known as the "Master Healer." It is believed to amplify energy, intention, and the properties of other stones. Many people associate it with mental clarity, focus, balance, and spiritual growth. Crystal practitioners often use it in meditation, energy work, and manifestation practices because it is thought to help clear energetic blockages and enhance awareness.
Legends surrounding rock crystal appear in many cultures. Ancient Japanese traditions described clear quartz as the frozen breath of a white dragon, symbolizing perfection and purity. In some Native American traditions, clear quartz crystals were regarded as living beings or powerful spiritual tools. Throughout history, seers and mystics have used polished rock crystal spheres for divination and scrying, believing the crystal could reveal hidden knowledge or connect the physical and spiritual worlds.
With its exceptional clarity, enduring symbolism, and timeless beauty, rock crystal quartz remains one of the most beloved and versatile gemstones in both jewelry and spiritual traditions.
The word quartz originates from the Greek word krystallos, meaning "ice". Ancient civilizations genuinely believed that rock crystal was permanently frozen water that had hardened over millennia. Historically, it was used for weapons and tools before transitioning into a prized material for intricate carvings, jewelry, and royal commemorative tokens like Stuart Crystals. The term rhinestone originally referred specifically to these glistening rock crystals when they were harvested directly from Europe's Rhine River.

A little look at why I was missing last week at the market, I had a beautiful wedding to attend in Oregon, my son and his gorgeous bride. I am however back at it today with a nice sample of picture jasper. A "donut" of swirling brown, cream and ochre suspended from a sterling bail that reminds us to do those little things that make all the difference in a good life. The chain is accented with tiger eye that helps to keep us grounded. Today is the Street Food Festival, perfect for a holiday weekend. Hope to see everyone there, if there is a little rain remember we are undercover and dry. Have a spectacular day and add in a big round of laughter as well!
Often referred to as "Scenic Jasper" or "Landscape Jasper," its warm tones of tan, brown, and beige mimic natural vistas. When cut, the stone reveals intricate bands and shapes that strikingly resemble rolling desert hills, windswept plateaus, and jagged mountain horizons. It predominantly forms when silica-rich volcanic fluid or mud flows into gas pockets and fissures within cooling lava. Indigenous tribes of North America deeply revered the stone as a direct, physical link to Earth's conscious energy network. Shamanic lore speaks of Picture Jasper as "Mother Earth speaking to her children," containing hidden visual messages, histories, or warnings from the past etched into its scenic rings. It was also widely utilized as a protective talisman to ward off malicious spirits or ensure success during vision quests.

Happy Mother's day to mothers of all kinds. I chose these to feature today as I thought that maybe mothers are alot like these stones. Shaped over time by infinite minutes that change us, left open to always love and show that inner beauty. Weathered stone, misty mornings, and hidden crystal-lined caverns. Each cone-shaped druzy drop is naturally formed with a softly rough, open base that reveals its organic beauty, while the sparkling crystalline surface catches the light with a subtle shimmer. Raw nature and understated elegance, lightweight and easy to wear, these earrings bring a touch of wild luxury to everyday moments or special occasions alike. Join us today for the Mother's Day Market and celebrate your special mom. Just a note that I will not be there next weekend but will be back on the 24th. Shop will also be closed. Have a beautiful day full of beautiful minutes!
Druzy (or drusy) quartz is created when tiny quartz crystals form over the surface of a mineral, creating a sparkling, sugar-like crystalline coating. This natural phenomenon happens over thousands to millions of years, drop by drop, as mineral-rich water deposits microscopic crystals into cavities and over stone surfaces. Quartz has long been regarded as a stone of clarity, balance, and gentle amplification of energy, while druzy is often associated with lightness, renewal, and quiet joy. Its shimmering surface has inspired legends of hidden treasure and sacred geodes—little pockets of earth’s secret beauty brought to light.

Mother's Day is coming up quick, next weekend so it's an added incentive to visit the market today! Check out these sweeties, beer quartz, 14k GF and black spinel. A little on the petite side and so much sparkle! Strawberry festival is today and the day should be just about perfect! Hope to see you all at the market!
Beer Quartz is often associated with warmth, grounded abundance, and easy confidence. In crystal lore, its rich amber-gold tones are thought to carry the energy of stability and prosperity, encouraging steady growth rather than sudden bursts of change. It’s considered a stone that supports creativity, self-worth, and a calm kind of optimism—the feeling of being rooted enough to flourish. Many people are drawn to it for its comforting energy, as though it holds the glow of late afternoon sun, inviting you to slow down, savor life, and trust your own path.

Labradorite is always one of my favorites, one of the most unique stones as it can be any color it likes and it glows from within, so mystical. This one is paired with a little black spinel, oxidized sterling and 14kGF. Wonderful day at the market and today the fun continues. It's so nice to see everyone come back and visit with old friends and new. Beautiful weather on hand for today so a perfect time to wander and discover what's new. Have a great day, explore and discover what excites you!
Inuit legend tells that the Northern Lights were once trapped in the rocks along the coast of Labrador. A warrior supposedly struck the rocks with his spear to free the lights, though some remained trapped within the stones. The spiritual meaning of labradorite is fundamentally rooted in transformation, protection, and inner sight. Known as the "Stone of Magic," it is a favorite among healers and spiritual seekers for its ability to clear mental debris and reveal one's true potential.
Labradorite is a striking plagioclase feldspar mineral renowned for its spectacular iridescent play of colors known as labradorescence. While the stone itself often has a dark gray or black base, moving it in the light reveals shimmering flashes of peacock blue, gold, pale green, and sometimes rare copper-reds. This unique "frozen fire" effect is not a surface pigment but a physical phenomenon caused by light diffracting between microscopic mineral layers inside the stone.
