We are parents and members of our communities that support the teachers and support staff of ECCS.

Joe Scott and his gang running for school board in Eastern Carver County want you to believe that the current board and administrative leadership in Eastern Carver County Schools have lost the support of our communities. They contort data and use sinister narratives to frame the current board and administrative leadership as incompetent and unworthy of our trust.

Less than a year ago the 2021 Referendum, an Operating Levy to increase funding from ECCS taxpayers, passed with 70% approval while under the same school board and administrative leadership that we have today.

Joe and his gang seem to feel that 70% support is not a passing grade in elections. Maybe it's the voters of Eastern Carver County they don't trust?

Joe Scott and his gang running for school board in Eastern Carver County have been endorsed by the Minnesota Parents Alliance, a group which claims to be the voice of parents in our communities.

Although this sounds wonderful (because......parents), don't let the name fool you. The MPA is not a local collective of student guardians rallying around shared concerns over their children's education. The MPA, rather, is currently a subsidiary of an established political organization in greater Minnesota called "Center of the American Experiment". This group has a stated goal to mold public policy around the state to reflect their personal political views and they spend hundreds of thousands of dollars a year lobbying around Minnesota in pursuit of their goal.

In reality Joe and his gang have been endorsed by a political organization with a full time staff and a large board of directors, not by a group of ECCS moms and dads. They earned this endorsement by pledging allegiance to a corporate political agenda determined in a Golden Valley board room, not by committing to work on behalf of the education being delivered in Eastern Carver County classrooms.

Maybe when they say they want parents to have a voice in the classroom they mean parent companies?

Nice write-up in the Star Tribune about the the conflation of the district's equity work and the referendum! The naysayers and their accusations towards our educators of trying to con voters is pretty rich and a shining example of psychological projection.
