Your Support Makes This Work Possible

As summer begins, more of us are spending time outside — gathering with friends, cheering at games, and enjoying all that Charlottesville has to offer.

Every day, officers are out there too, working to keep our community safe and connected.

The Charlottesville Police Foundation helps support that work by providing officers with tools, training, and resources that strengthen both officer wellbeing and community partnerships.

Our mid-year appeal is now underway, and every gift helps strengthen community safety, officer readiness, and partnership across Charlottesville. If you’re able, we’d be grateful for your support today. 👉 Donate here: cvillepolicefoundation.org/donate

If this mission matters to you, please consider donating — and sharing this post to help us reach others who care about our community.

Mark your calendars for June 3 & 4 and join the CPD at Moe’s Original BBQ for a special fundraising event benefiting Special Olympics Virginia and the Law Enforcement Torch Run!

For two days only, 10% of all sales will be donated to support Special Olympics athletes across Virginia and the law enforcement officers who champion inclusion through the Torch Run.

Whether you’re stopping by for lunch, dinner, or takeout, every order helps provide opportunities for athletes to train, compete, and achieve their goals.

Come enjoy great food for a great cause—we hope to see you there!

On Memorial Day, we remember the brave men and women who gave their lives in defense of our nation and our freedoms.

Their sacrifice reminds us of the profound responsibility carried by all who serve.

The Charlottesville Police Foundation stands with our community in honoring the fallen, supporting their families, and reflecting on the values of duty, courage, and service that guide our work throughout the year.

We remember and we give thanks.

The Charlottesville Police Foundation honors the courage and sacrifice of our fallen officers.

National Police Week

On May 13 at 10 AM, the Charlottesville Police Department will hold its Police Memorial Ceremony in front of City Hall.

This solemn gathering honors the courage, dedication, and sacrifice of law enforcement officers who have given their lives in the line of duty. It is a moment for our community to pause, reflect, and stand together in gratitude.

As we observe National Police Week, we remember the fallen, support their families, and recognize the officers who continue to serve with integrity and compassion every day. Their commitment to protecting our community—often in the most difficult circumstances—deserves our deepest respect.

The Charlottesville Police Foundation is honored to stand alongside CPD during this week of remembrance.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month — and a reminder that behind every badge is a human being.

Mental Health Awareness Month is an important reminder of the psychological demands officers face and why wellness matters for the entire community. CPF is committed to supporting CPD through programs that build resilience, reduce stress, and strengthen officer wellbeing.

As we launch our Mid‑Year Appeal, we invite you to join us in this work. Your contribution directly supports the health and readiness of the officers who protect Charlottesville every day.
