🎣A little fun, a lot of appreciation 🎣

In honor of School Principal's Day, students spent the day “reeling in” photos from around the building to celebrate this special place!

It’s been a busy week in the middle school! Students have been exploring watershed challenges around the school, like erosion and pollution. During project time, they designed thoughtful solutions that they hope to share with Building Services in the future. 💦 At the same time, a small group headed out on another blacksmithing field trip where they learned the power of patience, precision, and heat! 🔥

Our Model UN club spent last weekend at Maggie Walker Governor’s School in Richmond, and a great time was had by all! Our students represented real and fictional personas from France, Syria, Australia, 1920s New York of The Great Gatsby, and the Lord of the Rings. There were assassinations, kidnappings, secret plots, character deaths and resurrections, and territorial takeovers in Middle Earth. Lucas G. received a verbal commendation for a job well done as notorious New York gangster, Owen “Owney” Madden, and Reed brought home an Honorable Mention award for an awesome performance as former President of France, François Hollande! Only a few (3-4) kids from each committee are recognized, so this is a big deal for both of them and everyone was so excited! 🤩 very proud of this whole team!!!

Last week’s Dragon Action League visit to The Laurels of Charlottesville was a beautiful reminder that connection matters at every age. 🥰

Today, the Dragon Action League became official Learning Pals! 🐉📚
They read stories to the kindergarteners at Stoney Point Elementary and filled the classrooms with laughter, imagination, and a love of books.

Snow days delayed the post, but these pics are still sweet ❄️🍪
Right before the snow hit, the Dragon Action League ran a no-cash bake sale, collecting canned goods for the Emergency Food Bank!
