Women with low self-esteem live with a constant sense of inadequacy. They often mask it with fake enthusiasm, high performance, and service to others. On the outside they look like they have it all together, but on the inside, they are burnt out, unsure of themselves, and don't know how to move forward into the life of fulfillment they are craving.

There is nothing this world offers that can fill the despair and desperation of low self-esteem, but God's word promises that everyone who is lacking, everyone who is longing, everyone who is in need of something real and sure to build their life on will find it in Him. He is the only one who can build us up and provide us what we need to feel safe, steady, and secure in our own skin. When we look to Him, His Word and His Truth, our lives become bedazzled with value and meaning.

We no longer have to strain or strive for the fulfillment we desire - it radiates from within us! When we have authentic self-esteem we can shine without effort, exhaustion, or resentment.

"O you afflicted one, tossed with tempest and not comforted,
Behold I lay your stones with colorful gems and lay your foundations with sapphires. I will make your pinnacles of rubies, your gates of crystal, and all your walls of precious stones."
Isaiah 56:11-13

There's a million reasons I haven't posted in awhile or I could focus on today.

Sometimes we don't know what we're capable of until we push ourselves out of our comfort zone.

Tonight's chicken parm as usual turned into chicken francese. I had my concerns for the outcome but trusted the process, read the recipe, prepped ingredients, and was prepared for each step. It challenged me as I went but the result was a restaurant quality meal!

My take on Chicken Cobb:

Air fried chicken tenderloins seasoned with ranch powder and a light flour coating
Black beans
Boiled egg
Chopped tomatoes
Chopped red pepper

There is a temptation with the holidays to eat too much, spend too much, and do too much - more than what we physically are capable of or more than what is good for us.

When we overdo things, it robs us of our time, resources, peace, and more. This is what the enemy does, steal, kill and destroy (John 10).

God's way encourages and empowers us to be intentional about using our resources by planning things ahead of time. One way we can apply this principle is to prayerfully plan our menus, food shopping, and gift gifting ahead of time. By doing this we can do good and feel good before, during, and after the holidays!

Luke 14:28-31
For which of you, intending to build a tower, does not sit down first and count the cost, whether he has enough to finish it— lest, after he has laid the foundation, and is not able to finish, all who see it begin to mock him, saying, ‘This man began to build and was not able to finish’? Or what king, going to make war against another king, does not sit down first and consider whether he is able with ten thousand to meet him who comes against him with twenty thousand?

Tip #1 is almost a no-brainer but sometimes we get so caught up in the preparations for the holidays we forget to take a moment to give thanks to God for His abundant supply and provision for us. Being alive, having a roof over our heads, having good food and the ability to prepare it, being able to give and receive gifts, having company to spend time with are all just a a few of His blessings and benefits, His love, and His mercy, and His grace towards us.

Giving thanks sets the tone for the meal, aligns our hearts and minds with His generosity towards us and others. It can sweep away any ill will, tensions, or bitterness, and create the conditions for a peaceable, joyous time together.

This Holiday season take a moment and give thanks. Write in the comments below what you are grateful for this holiday.
