Local friends!
There are lots of ways to join in helping our friends in western NC. Samaritan's purse is in route with supplies and are looking for volunteer teams to go help with damages. They will be needing a lot of volunteers!

There are local pilots who are taking supplies via air. You can drop them off at Statesville Airport Hangar 3 (supplies listed in photo)

JAARS is also making flights out and is looking for donations (see photo)

To me, a lush carpet of pine needles or spongy grass is more welcome than the most luxurious Persian rug.

Recently my husband and I were talking about how crazy our life has been. We have said yes to some pretty wonderful things and met some pretty extraordinary people. In saying yes to photography, I pray you all know that this is so much more than a paycheck for me. For me, this has always been about the stories of people's lives. You may not like the way your house looks or the size of your pants. You may wish your skin was clearer or your yard was bigger... but in the end, when your generations look at your images, they will just see You. I pray you feel that way with me... that I just do not want to give you a pretty picture, but I want to be a part of your story... to walk with you through the years and watch the beauty of your life unfold. So thankful for so many of you that have let me be me as I follow you around with my shiny black box.

I have heard a lot of teachings on motherhood. I have listened to podcasts, sat in conferences, heard some pretty incredible speakers teach on the subject. But nothing hits me like when I see a true mother of love walk it out before me. I showed up to shoot a couple quick headshots for my friend Lynne who had brought her three precious boys to tag along. She was not planning a shoot with them or staging a perfect moment. She was just being mom. I kept capturing so many sweet moments of Lynne just loving her boys and it made my own mama heart burst.
Do you want to learn about motherhood? Take a mom out of coffee and just talk. Listen to the highs and lows. You would be amazed at what you learn.

I truly feel so joyful being with people as they celebrate big moments. This is so much more than income for me. I love creativity- I love photography and the beauty of art. But at my core, I truly truly love the stories of people. People fascinate me and make me feel all of the emotions. So do not be surprised if I cry 1-5 times during your wedding, even if I just met you. There is something about the celebration of a story that just gets to me. And I'm so happy that you let me be a small part.

Joy is my favorite emotion to capture. When the whole body lights up with being surrounded by beauty and love.

I love senior sessions. This 17-21 age range is one of my favorite times of life in people. I love their dreams, I love their conversations, I love their hearts and passions as they step out into something brave and new. Keep dreaming always.
