I wrote this poem during a short spell where I was focusing on a "word of the day" email that I get every day in an attempt to put it to poetry. While the concept was fun, it got lost in the day to day, like everything else lol.

Old Whitney

Finally, I was able to identify the winner of the MDP Raffle at 's Coffee & Cafe . A huge shout out to Charlotte Gardner. Congratulations to you and many thanks to all that took the time to participate. ~ Michael

Yesterday I went out to Old Whitney because of how low the water is on Badin Lake. I couldn't remember when it was, but found some photos my Uncle Larry gave me from 2003 when Badin was much much lower. At that time you could see the abandoned Old Whitney Dam, to the extent people were walking across it in many places.

As of this morning, Badin Lake is down 3.79 feet compared to Lake Tillery at 1.3
