You know I love a tiny space challenge, so when my friend asked me to help with their townhouse rental that had just been sitting, partly demo-ed after some water damage because *they didn’t have the time to deal with it* (WHO DOES??!) I said, “Yes of course, 1,000%.” As a rental, budget was a big factor in the choices we made, but you can work with a tight budget and still make choices that add personality and function. U-shaped kitchens are challenging on the best of days, but when they’re tight, it’s even trickier. The layout of the original kitchen and appliances only left room for one base cabinet, so we opened walls and shrank the appliances, which gave us so much more storage space, and then sprinkled in some color to keep things fun. I think she’s still available to rent if you know anyone who needs a two bed/one bath in the amazing (and desirable - that’s what real estate agents say, right?) Cotswold area - reach out to ! Do you feel victimized by all of the dark and moody that’s been posted lately? You’re not entitled to any compensation, but rest easy knowing we can do bright and airy as well. We had a small footprint to work with for this growing family, but with some small adjustments and a little space stolen from an adjacent closet, we were able to give them a full size vanity and additional storage options, plus a new spacious shower with a hinged panel that makes bathing the kids a breeze. It’s always fun to work with a client who wants to push the limits of a design and do something unique. This client has a love for art and ceramics and with her appreciation for the creative, had a vision of what she wanted the space to be. This earthy, organic room became a piece of art on its own.

If you thought we went moody with some of our other recent bathrooms - this one is for sure the moodiest of them all! This is in the same house as the green Limewash bathroom, but offers an earthy, metallic feel to contrast with the fresh, green tones we used there.
