It has been awhile since I have posted anything on here. Here is some pictures from a recent job. Sometimes I just forget to stop long enough to get pictures or a video. Taking down a Oak in Concord.

Wanted to share something I end up explaining a lot over the course of a year. If you see mushrooms(fungi) on any parts of a tree in your yard is not a good sign. Mushrooms can only grow on decaying wood, not healthy wood. Small amounts of mushrooms on a tree or its roots may not be a death sentence but in the case of this Red Maple the heart wood has decay and the cambium layer is starting to rot. So this Red Maple needs to go. I am not a mushrooms expert but I do know that these mushrooms would be lighter in color if they were fresh. These are dark so they have been here for a while.

Yesterdays project was a large Leyland removal. The Leyland was in close proximity to two homes with very little room to drop or rope out the limbs and trunk, but we got it down, thanks to good people and good equipment. 🌲🌳

The fruits of our labor -- The production from a recent firewood day at the shop, 2 and 1/2 cords of Oak. While firewood production is a lot of work, I do enjoy it. Working close to home, no traffic to fight. There are benefits. Call us for your firewood needs.

Firewood season is upon us. We are trying to keep up as best we can but lets face it. You can sell firewood a lot faster then you can make it. We still have a good inventory as of now. If you want firewood to burn this season don't wait too long.

Meet the newest addition to the Higher Caliber family, it's a Tuepen Leo 18GT. It's probably not a true Spyder Lift, but that is what we call it. Lifts are hard to find used and in good condition. We have had our eye on these for while and got a good deal on this one. The lift drives on tracks, powered by a small Kubota diesel engine, can reach 57 feet, almost as high as the bucket truck but weighs in at 5700 lbs and is only 3 feet wide. The lift can go just about anywhere.
