Mix a summer bouquet color palette with me, inspired by lilies, dahlias, black-eyed Susans, and snapdragons. Now I have a handy reference sheet to capture the gorgeous colors from last week’s bouquet from !

Had so much fun with talented designer, Hong Sievert, , when she came for a sneak peek of my new series of paintings. Great catching up with her…we chatted about all things art, design and business. Can’t wait to collaborate with her soon!

She matched her favorite painting of the new series by accident!

All the works in progress together waiting for the next pass.

All 8 paintings in my new series together, and they are a wild little group! lol 😂 My art coach assures me that it’s better to keep going and head into new territory in my work, even if it seems new and out of my comfort zone. These feel different for me, and I’m fighting the urge take them back into familiar territory. I’ve done 3 passes on the top row, 4 passes on the bottom row. I’m going to trust the process. At some point, I’ll switch gears and rein them in.

Cant get enough of these locally grown flowers from ! She outdid herself this week: stunning dahlias, lilies, snapdragons, black-eyed Susan’s, and sunflowers. I’m learning how to arrange, and I’m sure I’m breaking floral design rules I don’t even know!😁

I am a dancer…and I always will be. Thanks to a nice lady in cardio dance today who reminded me of this. I wore this “I’ll bring the dance moves” hat my friends gave me to class, and she struck up a conversation afterwards. Turns out she teaches dance at a local dance studio.

I love dance, and I’ve danced off and on most of my life! But I forget this sometimes. It’s nice to remember. Swipe to see a couple of photos that took of me in dance poses, almost 15 years and definitely 15 pounds ago.

There’s a thread of dance in my paintings, in the rhythm and movement. I can see that. It’s very interrelated. Maybe this was a little nudge from above to tap into this a bit more in my work. We’ll see!

To help my vet celebrate their 20th anniversary, I’m donating two custom pet collages for their raffle for donations. We’ve been going there for almost 17 of the 20 years!

I’m trying to let peace in my spirit guide me in my life and art. You know what I mean? Not forcing things, allowing things to happen in their own way, not because I tried to make them happen.

Peaceful Waters is a small, 12” x 12”, acrylic painting that captures some of what I’m trying to express and live by. There’s a feeling of ease when I look at it. It’s available for purchase.

Peonies are one of my muses, without a doubt. Full of textural details of acrylic paint, collage, acrylic mediums, and water soluble crayons, this piece is layered. Peony Promise reminds me…the season for this gorgeous bloom may be winding down, but I get to create lasting blooms in my art.

Sentimental non-art post today…31 years with my hubby, Greg (NOT a social media person at all). It rained the morning of our wedding, so we had to move our reception inside. But just prior to walking down the aisle, the clouds broke and my Dad and I looked out to see a rainbow🌈 ! My Dad, with his constant optimism, always had that way about him. The parking space at the front was always open. The glass was always half-full. Our wedding day was a grand party and the start of something enduring. Marriage is not always the grand party😂, but it’s so worth the commitment.

Layers of materials: pencil, bits of paper, paint. All add depth and history to this small piece. It’s a small piece with history and a story that emerged over several studio sessions. I never quite know where a piece will end up. This might be a perfect little piece for a powder room or a desk area. It’s available, so reach out if you’re interested. It’s called “Floral Melody”

Love using to help you visualize my work in a space.
