Refinishing cabinets is a labor of love that demands meticulous preparation to achieve a professional-grade finish.

The process begins with “deconstruction”, where all doors, drawers, and hardware are removed and labeled for easy reassembly.

Next, a thorough “degreasing”is essential to strip away kitchen oils, followed by sanding to scuff the existing surface and ensure proper adhesion.

Once the wood is smooth and dust-free, you must apply a high-quality primer—specifically one designed to block tannins—before finishing with at least two coats of specialized cabinet enamel/paint.

Allowing for ample cure time between steps is the secret to a durable, factory-smooth result that won’t chip under daily use.
