It's been a minute, but on Saturday, June 13, Vinyl Live returns to The Trail House with special guest keyboardist Ottavio Saluzzi! Show starts at 9 PM sharp but arrive early and enjoy dinner and drinks before the dancing starts.

Meet Michael Costa: drummer, percussionist, lifelong student of the groove, and a founding member of Vinyl Live.

Raised in North Jersey, Michael grew up around music as the nephew of famed bandleader Carmen M. Costa. He picked up the drums at age 12, and a chance meeting with legendary drummer Buddy Rich at 15 cemented his calling: he knew he'd be playing drums for the rest of his life.

Michael spent his teen years performing with local bands throughout North Jersey and entered the studio for the first time at 17 with the original band Red Wing. By the late '80s, he was touring nationally and playing corporate events across the country.

Since relocating to Charlotte in 1991, Michael has become a familiar face in the local music scene, performing with bands End Over End, Sweatin' Bullets and The Wax Gurus.

Now recently retired from corporate life, Michael is dedicating his time to deepening his craft, studying new drumming styles and expanding his work on percussion instruments.

Vinyl Live is taking a short break while we gear up for a busy summer season. We’re adding new songs, polishing the show, and putting the finishing touches on a brand-new lighting experience.

In the meantime, we thought we'd introduce you to the people behind the music, starting with our newest member, Asher Pope.

Asher grew up in Nashville, Tennessee, playing in rock bands and honing his skills as a keyboardist, guitarist, bassist and vocalist. His last band, Asher and the Spinners, recorded an album before he stepped away from music to chase a girl. Good news: it worked. Today, Asher is happily married and the proud father of three beautiful daughters.

Now he's back on stage, bringing his talent, energy, and vocals to Vinyl Live. Whether he's laying down keyboard parts or adding harmonies, we're thrilled to have him in the band.
