Just a friendly reminder that we have 8 And All cans and draft available today. Our friends @chsbeerweek hooked us up with some fresh glassware to giveaway with purchases of this beer.

8 And All Release Event.

In July of this year, Good Beer Hunting published a 3-part series called Tek Cyear uh de Root, covering a historic beer festival in Charleston that draws very poignant parallels to the lack of racial diversity we see in our industry today. The articles, and the accompanying podcasts, turned many-a-head, including ours. The lead author, Jamaal Lemon (| Jamaal |]) astutely pointedy out that our namesake, Edmund Egan, the celebrated "Rebel Brewer," didn't brew his celebrated beer alone. Enslaved people mostly brewed for him, and thanks to the white-washing of history, we don't even know their names.

We reached out to Jamaal and his collaborators, and after some tough-but-productive conversations, we decided to do what we do best - brew a beer together.

8 And All, an 8.5% ABV American Strong Ale approximating a historical "Double Beer" as advertised by Edmund Egan, was brewed in collaboration with | Jamaal |], @brewedculture, @goodbeerhunting, and @lostlagers. It's an attempt to draw attention and pay respect to the enslaved folks that actually brewed Edmund Egan's beer.

We're actively continuing research in hopes that we can name these enslaved brewers, a project we're not sure will yield the results we want but one we believe in.

Join us on November 3rd for the release of 8 And All in cans and draft here at the EOBC Taproom. The beer will be for sale when we open at 11am, and we'll be donating $2 for every pint or flight sold of all our beers in the taproom that day to the Charleston Development Academy.

Let's come together and celebrate some of the original Charleston brewers who never got the credit they deserved, and let's continue the conversation at @commonhousealeworks on November 4th at the Tek Cyear uh de Root Festival!

All proceeds from the sales of 8 And All will benefit the Charleston Development Academy.

🇬🇧COMFY ARMCHAIR CANS RETURN! 🇬🇧

Our homage to the crisp and satisfying Northern English Brown Ale is back in 3 forms!

We have cans and draft here at 1505 King Street along with a cask of Comfy Armchair on our draught engine!

Expect notes of baked bread, toffee, and a toasted nut finish. This is the perfect pint to ease yourself into and relax away your afternoon.

One cask was filled off of our fermentor with only a priming sugar addition to showcase this beer in a traditional light. Re-fermentation from this serving vessel has created a very soft and subtle carbonation.

If you haven’t had a cask ale before this is a great style to experience this old school serving method with.

Stop by and grab yours today!
