IPCUS seeks nominations for First Vice President

The International Propeller Club seeks nominations for First Vice President. Due to unforeseen circumstances Steve Tyndal is unable to continue in his current role as our First Vice President. This has created a vacancy and a replacement is needed to serve until the next meeting of the annual Port Presidents. We send our warm thanks and appreciation to Steve for his many years of service within the Propeller Club. Steve shared with me it was a difficult decision to make but he remains committed to his ongoing support of our Propeller Club.

Therefore it is requested that nominations for First Vice President be forwarded to a Nominations Committee that will be Chaired by Joel Whitehead. Please send nominations to Joel at [email protected] or cell (703) 389-1510. Please share a brief paragraph on the candidates past Propeller service and qualifications. Obviously it would be appropriate to seek out a candidates permission prior to nominating them for this important position.

We have set a date of Friday, November 30 to receive nominations. The goal would be to present a finalist for appointment consideration at the IPCUS Directors Meeting on December 17th. The Board of Directors would then appoint a replacement to serve until the next meeting of the Port Presidents.

Thank you for your assistance with this important opportunity to nominate the best individuals. We need to continue the positive ongoing momentum within the Propeller Club. We have accomplished some much and have a Strategic Plan in place to take us to a bright future.

Please reach out to me or Joel Whitehead at [email protected] or cell (703) 389-1510 if you have any questions, comments or suggestions.

My contact details are listed below in the email signature block and I would welcome your dialog.

Thank you very much.

2017 State of the Port Address Postponed:
The Propeller Club of Charleston Board of Governors has decided to postpone the State of the Port Address scheduled for Monday, September 11, 2017.

While no one knows what effect Hurricane Irma will have on Charleston, it is likely we will be impacted in some way. Whether it's a glancing blow, a second landfall, or a first landfall and whether we are an evacuation zone or an evacuation haven, Monday is not looking like a day to gather anywhere in the Southeast.

Thank you for your continued support. A new date will be announced as soon as possible. We wish you, your family and businesses safe passage through this storm.
Regards,

John E. Cameron
President, Propeller Club of Charleston

On Wednesday, February 22nd, members of the Citadel Student Port Group, lead by their President, Hal Stephenson, visited the SCSPA Wando Terminal to see one of the country's most productive ports in action. The students gained valuable insight into this vital part of the supply chain and their hosts got a chance to meet future industry leaders.

Many thanks to our friends at the SCSPA for their hospitality and their support of our efforts to promote waterfront careers and facilitate opportunities for our Student Port organizations.
