On a "Wishing it were Friday" Wednesday - MS JUNELLA !

When you have such a lovely & unique name like 'JUNELLA',...and you hold not just one, but three current different system pageantry titles,...and you are fortunate enough to be coached by such a lovely ray of sunshine as Ms Ally Bowen,...& even though you are still just in 7th grade,...but you can flow so easily n comfortably into modeling portfolio like you were a 19 or 20 yr old,.....You might be someone who could just perhaps become someone who is known some day on a one name basis,..."JUNELLA !" (of course, you do have your last name 'cause it's what identifies what family you belong in, & we all should belong in some family). Junella is certainly one of my "ones to watch". Who's next for a portfolio set?

SASSY SATURDAY'S - REGAL IN RED

Happy Sabado folks !,...best day of the week !... the day when my brain is all tied up in Game Day baby,..so my creative writing thoughts are distracted,....but when your subject is this gorgeous & Regal In Red,.... the images pretty much speak for themselves anyhow. What an honor to have photographed the lovely Miss Lowcountry Alli Stovall last Sunday, never mind wind n rain from a tropical depression, we still got the shoot done !...Who's next?!

TGIF'S - SENIOR PORTRAITS SERIES

Each H.S. Senior is unique in their own way. Some love the 'lime light' attention & thus love having pictures done and posted big. Others just as soon do their own thing more "behind the scenes", & some get Sr pictures more as a favor to their Moms. And a few don't do pics without their "best friend n soulmate" (not necessarily a human, but pets are family too). While some like posing up big time, others rather just chill, & let photographers capture them in a more natural way. It's important to know your client and get their "real" personality reflected in your images. That's a "talent gift" that can't be taught (unlike technicalities of photography science). Today's 'episode' of my Senior Portrait Series features Milo Smith, a Cane Bay H.S. Senior, & his best friend n soulmate "Riley" (whom I think is a combination of Irish Setter & Golden Retriever). Milo & Riley have been through many "times" together helping each other cope, as it should be with "man's best friend". Many dogs are oblivious to the camera & catching their faces well in the frames can sometimes be a tough gamble. But Riley seemed to not only know just where the camera was, but to be willing to face me for the pics. Milo wants to head to Clemson for College, & then perhaps join the Military. Best wishes to them both in this "senior year".

THROWBACK THURSDAY'S - BEAUTIFUL IN BLUE

When you are looking back through your images for something specific to a seasonal theme you are consciously marketing yourself with at this time, ...and you find a 'look' you shot for someone from some years back that you'd forgotten you'd done. But once re-seeing it you think "I did a pretty nice job for her", .... so you stick it out there, partly because you just like posting something,... but also in the vein of consistency, never knowing when just some particular thing may possibly catch someone's eye, causing them to consider a similar session.

CROWN N SASH PORTFOLIO

There's all kinds of pageants everywhere, about any time of year, over multiple different systems. There's pageant Queens who have won multiple crown titles in multiple different systems. If I were managing a company for which young people were applying for work in,...if it came down to the applicant who listed pageantry experience vs the one who had none,...I'd hire the one with pageantry experience. That's because I know something about what kind of organization, dedication, n effort it takes to be successful in pageantry. If you have recently won a new pageantry title n crown, then you need a portfolio session to record your accomplishment with, for marketing yourself with towards whatever is next on your list. For Crown n Sash portfolio,...I know a guy.

On a "Manic Monday",...todays thoughts are about "dressing the part". If you want to be taken seriously as a professional person, then "dress for success" and look the part. Utilize classy wear that speaks to the business world in seeing you as a serious professional,...wear that is stylish, trendy, with a good fit for you. Don't forget to utilize colors that work well with your complexion and coloring, with accessories that add an additional touch of class & professionalism with a modest amount of "show" as opposed to an overly dramatic flare. Utilize great posture and attentive approachable countenance. Plus, get a professional portraiture set of images done of yourself for your online profile needs. "I know a guy".

MODELING PORTFOLIO

Modeling portfolio in its simplest form is a matter of getting some sharp clear quality images of different looks of yourself for a succinct set to show modeling agencies/talent scouts your basic looks. It can be done on location or in studio (here obviously on location for use of natural lighting), but modeling portfolio is different than say pageantry headshots, because modeling agents want to see more of what one's natural look is, than seeing a glammed-up look as we often do for pageantry or other stage presence sorts of things. Light day makeup is usually the ticket for modeling portfolio. Modeling agencies/talent scouts want to see what a potential "model" looks like & how their body "lines up" or "curves" or "moves" so to speak, as different body types & looks lend to differently to various modeling/acting projects. Utilizing a variety of different base stances (feet up) & utilizing limbs (away from body generally) to accentuate curves, angles, & depth dimensions etc, help create pleasing aesthetics lending to different personified "moods" (confidence, coyness, sweetness, powerfulness etc). But in the end, the modeling portfolio set is only as good as the referral or connection to the bonafide bonded professional modeling agency/talent scouts, as what is it's worth without creating the online profile towards "selling/promoting" the model for auditions/jobs etc. That should be a given. Anybody for a modeling portfolio set (& of course a legit agency referral)? (Model: Haleigh Bagwell).
