We ended the day spending more time in the park with one another before heading back to the studio.

On Tuesday we ditched the norm to have more time to rehearse for……. Creative Misfits!! We started by rehearsing our set list and transitions! We then headed out doors for a quick lunch break! We pretty much spent the rest of the day taking care of Creative Misfit business. We rehearsed and rehearsed and we just can’t wait to share with you all all the hard work! We ended the day by adding final touches to all of our art projects!

On Thursday it was pretty much more rehearsing! We shifted the studio around, tightened the mic stands and got after it! We sang and sang until lunch time, took a quick break and then jumped right back into it. We finalized costumes, art projects and any other loose ends. Before we knew it, the day was over! I guess that’s what happens when you are a rock star. We cannot wait for the show!!

Looking for a gift for that special someone? Tell them, "No, I love YOU more!" with Dorothy Netherland's layered and fascinating style. Ink and acrylic on glass lends depth and life to this remarkable artwork.

Don't hesitate or you'll lose out on this one!

The #1 comment after last year's auction? "Aw man! I didn't realize that was available!"

Don't let this piece pass you by again. It is a beautiful study by a phenomenal artist leading the charge for contemporary disability art, Oaklee Thiele. This study was later translated to a large scale 5' foot tall painting. Thought provoking, important, and deeply honest - we know you'll be proud to give this piece a good home.

Oaklee Thiele's latest endeavor, @mydearestfriendsproject, is truly essential to the history of this moment in time, documenting the experiences of the disabilities community during the Covid-19 pandemic through words and art.

Olivia Bonilla's sculpture "Swimming With The Fishes" exemplifies Creative Misfit-itude. A memorable and deliciously unique piece full of interesting detail from every angle. So, where are you going to display it once you win the auction?

Kate Ritchie is a newcomer to Creative Misfits, and her distinctive, substantial piece makes a big impact! Honestly, photographs just can't do justice to this showstopper in acrylic and resin. Take this home and be ready for all the compliments on your new statement piece.

We had a pretty typical week here at HEART

On Tuesday for daily draw, since it was so cold over the weekend, we drew some cozy pajamas and slippers! After daily draw we went on a pretty long walk for exercise. We walked around the neighborhood and even passed by K-Jacks house! We walked all the way to the water and got some pretty sweet photos. After lunch we warmed up our pipes for perfmcoring arts! We took care of business and kept on rehearsing for Creative Misfits (December 5th). We ended the day putting more finishing touches on our mask!

On Thursday we started the day with daily draw of course! Mimi met us on zoom and had a special request, since it was Veterans Day, we all made cards for a Veteran. We then made our way out to the court yard to practice performing arts! After lunch we kept on practicing our set for Creative Misfits Live! We ended the week with visual arts! Some people were working on their mask project while others started some new pieces of work! It was a great day.

Another week down, see you all next week!!

We had such a blast participating in Palmetto Brewing Company's Live Art Competition during Charleston Beer Week. Not only was it an exciting event full of very talented artists, but thanks to the generous voting of the crowd (plus the incredible donations from Palmetto themselves), we raised over $4,500 for HEART!

Thank you to Palmetto for making us the beneficiaries of this awesome night. And, many thanks to everyone who came out to vote, drink, and support the arts in Charleston!

Hello November!

We started the month off right with some daily draw! Mimi met us on zoom and had us draw things that live in a nest. After daily draw we took a nice brisk walk to Hampton Park and when we arrived we shared with one another what we did over the weekend. After lunch we danced on into preforming arts. We kept on rehearsing our songs for The Creative Misfit Show happening on December 5th at the Pour House! We ended the day with some visual arts. Everyone’s mask is looking pretty unreal, we can’t wait to share more.

On Thursday for daily draw we drew things that blow in the wind! We had sailboats, wind chimes and some start leaves. We then went on a walk to the butterfly nook to play a few rounds of charades. When we got back to the studio we had a quick lunch and then jumped right into performing arts. We hit it with our best shot practicing some Creative Misfits songs. We ended the day with visual arts working hard in our different mask!

A great start to the month of November! We will see you all next week.

This week we had the pleasure and honor to celabtate the birthday of the one and only, Nathan Willoughby and Marisa!

Nathan will be celebrating his golden birthday on the 30th but we celebrated on Thursday with a Mississippi mud pie made by Nathan’s mom! Nathan is the most outgoing and charismatic as they come. His positivity and excitement about life is contagious. He’s a poet, writer, actor and artist. He’s a true friend to all and has a wild sense of humor. We love you Nathan! Happy happy birthday!!

We also celebrated Marisa’s birthday! Marisa is the most bright and bubbly person who warms up any room she enters. She has a true love and passion for serving others. She’s hilarious, energetic and we love and miss having her in the studio regularly. You heart family loves you Marisa!!! Happy Birthday.

There were a few tricks, but mostly treats this week at HEART.

This weeks theme was all things Halloween! We kicked off Tuesday by drawing what our Halloween party’s would look like. We drew what snacks we would serve and what decorations we would use. After daily draw we creeped on into performing arts and kept on practicing our songs for the Creative Misfit show (December 5th at the Pour House). After lunch we made our way to Hampton Park for some good ol kickball!! The nasty neighbors vs the dirty dolphins. Once we finished our game we walked to the other side of the park where we met the staff from the Harbinger Cafe and started pumpkin carving!! It was a lot of fun meeting new friends and creating some spooky pumpkins. We even had a competition for the best craving. Kjack took home the “Great Pumpkin Award” but it was a pretty close call.

On Thursday we got an early start to daily draw. We drew what we want to dress up as on Halloween! There were power rangers, princesses and even a cheesecake. We then walked in over to Redux to view the the current exhibition, Maintenance of Way and Cosmic Visions. We left feeling completely inspired. After lunch we kept on going with our Creative Misfits rehearsals. We ended the week by adding more details to our mask!

It was a spooky filled week! Happy Halloween!! See you in November.

Another week in the books!

This week we started just like any other, with some daily draw! We drew all things bowling, from bowling balls to pins to the snacks. We had it all! We then went out doors to enjoy the nice weather by taking a walk to Hampton Park. Once we got to Hampton Park we shared our favorite part from our weekend! When we got back to HEART we practiced our Creative Misfit songs. December is just around the corner and we can’t wait to share it with you all. We ended the day wish visual arts! We added some paint to the mask we have been working on.

On Thursday we got a head start on our daily draw! We drew the patterns on lizards skin. We quickly shared our work with Mimi and then hoped in the vans to make our way to the Halsey Contempory Art Gallery! The exhibit we viewed was called Crossed Looks by Namsa Leuba. We some some pretty unreal photographs and I think we all left feeling pretty inspired. We then took a short walk to the CofC Cistern for a picnic. Once we returned to the studio we worked on more music! We worked sooo hard all afternoon it was enough to drive us crazy if we let it!!

This week went by to quick we can’t believe its over! See you all Tuesday!!

Happy Birthday Stuart

Stuarts 31st birthday was on the 4th but we celebrated on Tuesday with cupcakes! Ohhhhh Stu Stu, where to begin? Stuart is the sweetest and most gentle soul. He keeps us on schedule here at HEART. He has the most impressive collection of custom t shirts and a love and appreciation for 1980s culture. He has the most contagious smile and laugh that will truly make your day and melt your heart. We love you Stuart!! Happy happy birthday!

This week was right up our alley!

On Tuesday we had some daily draw in the morning! Mimi met us on zoom and had us draw a parade. I think we had every type of parade imaginable drawn. After daily draw we headed out to the court yard for some expertise in the glorious fall weather. We had lunch outside and then afterwards we had some out door visual arts. We kept painting and adding on to our mask! For the rest of the day we watched some videos by

On Thursday we piled into the vans and took a quick drive to The Alley for some bowling! There were a few strikes, a couple spares and lots of fun. When we returned back to the studio, we completely switched gears and ditched our bowling balls for our metal guitars. We sprayed our hair, put on leather jackets, and cut our sleeves in order to get into complete rock n roll character. We had a rock n roll photo shoot for our Creative Misfit show! The photos turned out pretty epic and we can’t wait to share!

What a rockin week, see y’all Tuesday!
