FOOTLIGHT FLASHBACK!

Do you miss us? Because we sure miss you and look forward to bringing you plenty of quality live performances as soon as we are able. But in the meantime, we would like to share with you a collection of amazing live performances from our first ever cabaret event, 'In the Key of B', held back in a simpler time....this past winter.

Back in January, two of Charleston's brightest musical theatre stars Becca Anderson and our own Exec. Director Brian J Porter, along with a collection of very special guests, came together for an evening performing some of their favorite works of musical theatre. The results were the show In the Key of B' which quickly became an audience favorite. Since there were so many fabulous performances we thought we would start sharing a collection of performances from this special show.

We start with Becca Anderson, returning to the stage at the Queen Street Playhouse after almost two decades, performing a haunting rendition of 'Out of My Mind' from the murderous musical Mrs. Sharp by Ryan Scott Oliver accompanied on piano by Footlight familiar face Kay Thorn.

Stay tuned as we continue to share more of these fabulous performances for you throughout this strange and unpredictable time. We hope you find some comfort and solace in the beauty of the art of music and theatre. ENJOY!
The Queen Street Playhouse and our theatre office will be closed beginning tomorrow in conjunction with the city's new 'stay at home' ordinance which requires all non-essential businesses to close for a period of 14 days.

We ask that you stay healthy, safe and aware during this difficult and trying time. We will keep you updated and engaged on all things Footlight through our social media platforms such as on this page and our Instagram account!

The Queen Street Playhouse houses a vast array of artists in many different performance disciplines including dance, poetry, music and, of course, theatre.

Operating as usual

Kay Thorn gives it all on stage, hopes to give back

Check out this fabulous new article on our very own Kay Thorn, a cherished and wildly talented member of our theatre family. We couldn’t be more proud to have them on board! ❤️🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

Kay Thorn gives it all on stage, hopes to give back Someone running a theater internship told Kay Thorn at age 18 they probably should not pursue musical theater. Good thing Thorn didn’t listen — Charleston would have been robbed of one its most dynamic talents. Thorn has been lighting up stages with big, bold personality and undeniable stage pre...

CASTING ALERT

Footlight Players are looking to recast a role in our upcoming production of Six Degrees of Separation which starts rehearsals Feb. 1 and opens Feb. 28 - March at Queen Street Playhouse directed by Kyle Barnette (Head Over Heels, 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee).

Due to some schedule conflicts we need to cast the role of Geoffrey, the South African billionaire art dealer who appears in the first 30 minutes of the show.

It is a really great and important role in the show for a caucasian male age 40 - 65 and does not require huge amounts of rehearsal time. If you are interested please DM us or contact Footlight SM Caroline Tweedy at [email protected]

Please share if you know someone who might be right and interested!
