Hi,

I designed a new type of knife that I would like to share. I currently have a kickstarter running here:
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/thomastb/thomas-kook-non-stick-knife

Would you perhaps like to write something about this? If so I would love to share some more material, photos/videos/designs.

If you have any other idea to have more people see this concept please let me know!

Regards,
Hot days require cool sweets. Whip up these juicy pops—perfect for kids of all ages dreaming of Creamsicles from the ice cream truck. Find the recipe from Belmond Charleston Place pastry chef Chris Ryan at the link below.

I love your photos!!! They definitely induce a creative mysterious vibe and capture that sophistication and history I love about Charleston. I've recently had to start a gluten free diet, so I'll have to try some of your recipes. They look amazing!
Thanks, You are my Guru. Best regards.

It’s been a week. So I’m baking… And that helps tremendously as always. Wishing everyone a cozy and peaceful holiday season.

Remember when I said I would try to post more often… welp obviously didn’t happen! It’s been busy for everyone; I’ve been in a little bit of a funk not being to see my family again this year and then boom it’s about to be Christmas! So now I’m racing to do *all* the cookies baked for next week :) Happy holiday season !

This time of year I start the hibernating mode. Cozy meals with cozier ending of crisps and such wrapped up in a fuzzy blankets. Except is still really warm here, ahah! That hasn’t stop before though 🙃

All I need was a teeny tiny drop in temperature to rush to the kitchen, turn the oven on and make my grandma’s apple cake. Ready for Fall even if it still feels like Summer outside.

Can’t believe my last IG upload was the end of July! Summer was a blur! Lots of work and lots of new stuff done around the house and life. Ready for Fall, cozy times and comfort food :)

Haven’t posted much lately. Work has been good and then I got lazy with posting because it’s summer and I’m thinking about other things :)
BUT today’s work wasn’t bad at all… cocktails, shakers and mixers…

Summer is definitely here. But we have ways to keep cool and fresh! Watermelon aqua Fresca on set!

Haven’t been on IG much these past couple of months - it’s been really busy at the studio and I’m not complaining. And then there’s life with birthdays, dinners al fresco and such. Hope you are all doing stupendous!

Sometimes our CSA gives us the most photogenic produce. Dark purple snow peas. Had to photograph their beauty before eating them :)

Tis the season and I’m here for it!
Felt like forever ago I last posted, and it was :) Work has been non stop and I’m not complaining one bit. Taking a little breather this week and making steamed artichokes on repeat. Also stuffed, baked, braised and all the things.

Craving Spring. We’re lucky to be spared the awful weather others are living through. Can’t stop me from craving Spring and making green beauty on set.

Definitely in comfort food mood over here. And that translates in giant bowls of soup. One right after the next. 🙏

Wishing everyone a sweet and lovely year ahead. Lot of pressure put on 2021!! Stay safe, be happy and well. Happy New Year!

12/28/2020

It’s always nice to finish the year photographing pretty things for a cookbook.

12/25/2020

Wishing everyone a very happy and safe Christmas!

12/15/2020

S’mores cream puffs. There’s always a time for one of these right now... or maybe two.

12/09/2020

Being thrifty and crafty repurposing various Christmas decorations of the last 20 years to make a new wreath. Also decked the whole house up because 2020... and we all need all the sparkles we can get!!

11/29/2020

Dinner prep. Taking the easy road and grilling these tonight along with loads of veggies.

11/26/2020

Whether you are baking, cooking, mixing, or sitting back and relaxing, there are a lot of things to be thankful for today beside food. Wishing everyone a safe and happy Thanksgiving! 🦃🍁

Sometimes I just want a cookie...

Happy Hallow’s Eve 👻 !
I had forgotten about a decorative arrangement that got pushed back in a corner last Halloween. When I picked up the almost disintegrated mini pumpkins, I found them so cool I couldn’t help but want to photograph them. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder... By no means a symbol of 2020 but almost 🎃

10/19/2020

Sometimes you just got to get the pasta machine out and start from scratch. The process may be long and involved but it’s the perfect meditative time to be spent on a day off. These were for a cookbook shoot I did a couple months ago but that’s also how I spent my afternoon. So much time behind the camera lately that I needed a bit of hands on time in the kitchen today.

10/08/2020

‘Tis the season...Even if it’s 80 degrees outside...!

09/28/2020

Pretending it’s still the weekend. Negronis and charcuterie cheese board. Because Monday...

09/23/2020

My brain knows it’s Fall but my heart is not ready to let go of the last bit of tomatoes. So it’s simple things like quick tomato sauce and pasta that are making me happy right now :) and cooler days finally!

09/14/2020

Morning snack, afternoon snack, tv snack. Our radishes are finally happy and thriving. Just when I was about ready give up!

The summer has been super busy with cookbook shoots and I haven’t posted much to this space. It’s been interesting working in the middle of a pandemic (quarantine, masks, tests, grocery pick ups and deliveries, self imposed isolation in between jobs). It takes a toll on your mind just about as much as your body. Sometimes I need to just scroll down my phone and look at y’all pretty shots :)
Enjoying a couple of weeks of downtime and wrapping up some house projects before another busy month.
Stay safe friends! ❤️

08/28/2020

Happening this weekend. Because after 6 weeks of straight cookbook shoots we all deserve some TLC. Even if strawberries are not in season anymore. Shortcakes always are. So is whipped cream :)

08/09/2020

Gimme gimme! All the wings... That’s all I got to say :)

Someone got lobster for his birthday lunch. And peel n eat shrimp. And chocolate cake. All his favorites. Well saving some for dinner of course.

07/16/2020

Fish on the grill just about every other day right now. A few herbs inside and out, lemon slices and a big side salad. My kind of summer meal.

07/02/2020

Sometimes, there’s nothing like a big bowl of meaty noodles to make the world go round. Even if only for a few minutes.

06/19/2020

Sometimes it’s an outtake that I love the most. Quails right off the grill and under camera. Shot for @mattrmoore for his latest book “Serial Griller”.

It’s gonna be a while before we’re able to gather as we used to. But that doesn’t stop us from texting, messaging, sharing opinions, resources, compassion and love. Introspection and awareness are good things.
.
Tenacity and creativity are also good things. Let me introduce you to @poppybeesurfaces started by my dear friend @clarebarboza and her husband Joe. That yummy blue background is one of theirs and it’s been put to good use! It’s not easy launching a new business in the middle of a pandemic but that power couple did it! So happy for them to share their talents with us.
