I wanted to take a moment to reach out to our customers, both those from Charleston and those who shop our website and Etsy. It’s been a rough year for the business as I’ve battled depression (thanks Covid). Though I am finally feeling much better, we are taking the remainer of the year off. I do plan on posting some items in the next few weeks on James island mom swap and on here. I am also willing to take requests for this Christmas and I will let you know if it’s doable or not.

Our imaginary doors will reopen in January and we look forward to getting your reactions and thoughts on the new website. We also look forward to seeing all of you at the city market.

To the followers of my page, my friends, I have slowly been re-emerging from the depths of winter and I’m working on my new novel. I do have a genuine favor to ask everybody and that is for you to just take a quick minute to go onto Goodreads and/or Amazon and read my novel the boo hag, if you enjoyed it that is. I don’t want any bad reviews LOL over the next few weeks I will add some small tidbits of the new novel for critique and maybe even to spark a little excitement. I plan to have it released sometime this fall

It’s been 375 days since our fabulous Night Market has been closed... TONIGHT marks the beginning of normalcy AND the return of our Historic Charleston City Night Market.

Tonight marks the beginning of returning back to our lives, living our lives again.
Live music is playing, people are out, masks are on but I can see the smiles in everyone’s eyes. Tears filling our eyes as we soak in what we have missed for so long ❤️❤️❤️.

Well it’s been an interesting week for primitively coastal. As many of you know, the Covid crisis has changed a lot of things and we ourselves have found our business in new and unfavorable territory (a purgatory of sorts). However I did want to take a moment to thank Madison, one of my faithful customers for inspiring me to reopen my shop on Etsy and begin working on products again. It’s been a rough six months to say the least and inspiration can be enchanting...

We are here, set up, and ready for a fun filled day at “A Taste of Folly”. We will be here until 4pm located at the Washout on Center Street. The weather is perfect, a typically January day at the beach, with no rain in the forecast. So stop on down and see us!!!

We had an amazing day at Folliday Holiday Craft Fair. Breezy and cool, luckily no rain!!! but can’t help to love being by the ocean no matter what.

We are here set up on Folly Beach for the Christmas parade today!!!! Stop by and check our booth out, we are in the parking lot of the wash out. Parade starts at 12pm. We are here 10am-3pm today!!!!

Our elves wanted to help prep for our upcoming craft fairs and night markets...

How appropriate that they wanted to help build and decorate our snowmen; but they didn’t want to just build any old snowmen, they wanted to help with our newest Hurricane Inspired “Dorian Snowmen”.

They don’t see hurricanes in the North Pole so they were very curious.

Sea turtles are very popular on the South Carolina coast and even more so here in Charleston. Loggerhead sea turtles swim ashore, lay 50-100 nests annually on beaches like Folly Beach.

Did you know that loggerhead sea turtles will lay around 120 eggs per nest!!! These creatures are truly amazing and everyone can’t help but love these massive mystical creatures and they are the true inspiration for our sea turtle collection.

We have chosen to paint our sea turtles a wide arrange of colors from traditional greens to sun bleached sand, to nautical blues and more!!! Each sea turtle is adorned with natural local beach sand to replicate the shell design of the turtle.

Coastal Christmas Ornaments are one of our favorite things to make this time of year.

We hand select all of the color combinations, decorations, Spanish moss, and then we hand wire all of the pieces together to form the perfect tree adornment.

Hurricane Dorian was a record breaking category 5 hurricane, with sustained winds peaking at 185 mph!! Dorian’s eye came very close to Charleston, SC sparing us its full force by a mere 40 miles

As hurricane Dorian roared around our home with winds nearing 90 mph and gusts over 100 mph we were fortunate to only lose branches in our yard, sole big branches.

As we were cleaning up the debris we noticed the large branches could be used to inspire a new collection for our business.

Introducing our hurricane inspired snowmen ⛄️ These branches were all casualties of hurricane Dorian, they have been cut and bleached to reveal its natural colors. They will be decorated in true snowmen fashion but with a deeper story and unique elegance.

These will only be available while supplies last so stay tuned for when we will have our hurricane Dorian snowmen collection available.
