Author Dino Garner argues that PTSD should be reclassified as Post-Traumatic Stress Injury (PTSI), contending that combat trauma is a physical injury rather than a mental disorder. The article cites research on neuroinflammation, changes to the amygdala and hippocampus, and biological responses to blast exposure and chronic stress.

Garner advocates for treatments such as stellate ganglion block, hyperbaric oxygen therapy, and other regenerative approaches, while criticizing reliance on psychiatric diagnoses and symptom-focused medications. The article calls for a shift in how combat-related trauma is understood and treated within military and veteran healthcare systems.

European Union intelligence has verified reports that China trained Russian military personnel on Chinese territory before they fought in Ukraine, according to EU High Representative Kaja Kallas. Speaking after a meeting of foreign ministers in Luxembourg, Kallas said the EU is assessing the implications but did not provide additional details.

Her comments follow a Reuters report that about 200 Russian troops received training in China in late 2025, reportedly focused on drone warfare under an agreement signed by Russian and Chinese officers. NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte said the alliance continues to monitor China's reported support for Russia, while China's Foreign Ministry dismissed the allegations as "pure slander and smearing."

The United States and Iran signed a 14-point memorandum of understanding this week aimed at ending months of conflict, reopening the Strait of Hormuz, and launching negotiations on Iran’s nuclear program. President Donald Trump signed the agreement on Wednesday, while Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian signed electronically on Sunday, according to U.S. officials cited by NBC News.

The agreement calls for an immediate end to military operations, allows toll-free commercial shipping through the Strait of Hormuz for 60 days, and includes Iran’s commitment not to develop or acquire nuclear weapons under future International Atomic Energy Agency oversight. The U.S. also agreed to begin lifting sanctions and restore access to frozen Iranian assets as broader negotiations continue.

Trump said the deal helped avoid a wider economic crisis, while Iranian officials described it as a victory. G7 leaders, including those from the U.K. and Japan, endorsed the agreement, calling it an opportunity to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons and address regional security concerns.

A Russian Navy frigate, the Admiral Grigorovich, fired warning shots at a British-flagged civilian yacht Tuesday in the English Channel, more than 20 miles south of the Isle of Wight. Russia's Defense Ministry said the shots, which included small-arms fire, were fired after the yacht came too close and failed to respond to radio contact; the U.K. Ministry of Defence described them as an attempt to prevent a collision and said it is investigating.

The Admiral Grigorovich has been operating near British waters for weeks, with Royal Navy ships HMS Mersey and HMS Tyne shadowing it through the Channel the day prior. The incident follows a June 14 operation in which British forces boarded and detained a Cameroon-flagged tanker suspected of helping Russia evade oil sanctions.

Google's Threat Intelligence Group identified a China-linked cyberespionage group, tracked as UNC6508, that has been stealing data from medical, academic, and defense research organizations across the U.S. and Canada since at least 2023. The group repeatedly targeted REDCap servers and deployed custom malware called InfiniteRed, which provided credential harvesting, backdoor access, and command-and-control capabilities.

Investigators found the group breached a medical research university in September 2023 and remained undetected on its systems through November 2025. Google said all confirmed victims were notified and that known targets likely represent only a fraction of a broader campaign.

The FBI arrested five men on June 17 on charges tied to an alleged plot to attack UFC Freedom 250, a mixed martial arts event scheduled at the White House. According to court documents, the group planned to deploy explosive-laden drones above the arena before directing fleeing crowds toward pre-positioned snipers.

Alleged targets included President Donald Trump, Vice President JD Vance, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and several members of Congress. FBI Director Kash Patel said authorities learned of the threat on June 10 and conducted a multi-state operation resulting in arrests in Ohio, Missouri, Nebraska, and California.

A joint investigation by Sweden’s SVT, Norway’s NRK, Denmark’s DR, and Estonia’s Delfi found that Russia is expanding military infrastructure near the borders of Norway, Finland, and the Baltic states, as well as in Kaliningrad. Satellite imagery showed new barracks, ammunition storage facilities, and expanded military sites that could eventually support up to 115,000 troops.

Sweden’s military intelligence chief Thomas Nilsson said the buildup should be taken seriously as a potential preparation for a future confrontation with NATO. Russian officials have denied any intention of attacking NATO members, while President Vladimir Putin has dismissed such warnings as politically motivated.

Videos circulating on social media appear to show a Russian Tu-22M3 strategic bomber diving nose-first into a forested area in Siberia before crashing. Russian authorities later confirmed that a Tu-22M3 crashed during a training flight on June 15 in the Irkutsk region.

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, all four crew members ejected and survived, and the aircraft was not carrying a combat load. Irkutsk Gov. Igor Kobzev said the bomber came down near the village of Kamenka and that preliminary information points to engine failure as a possible cause.

Meta reportedly tested facial recognition software from Rank One Computing, a Denver-based biometric technology company that works with U.S. Special Operations Command, the U.S. Marshals Service, and the Naval Criminal Investigative Service. Reports citing internal licensing documents and code found in Meta’s AI app linked the technology to an unreleased smart glasses feature known as “NameTag.”

According to reports, the system included facial recognition and liveness detection capabilities. Meta spokesperson Ryan Daniels said the company is exploring such technologies but has not released them to consumers, made a final decision on deployment, or built a central face database.
