The rise of the Phoenix Athlete is a glorious thing. It is amazing to see the same person that was in the hospital bed after having their limb removed compete in a race.
Praise God that I can be a part of this!!! www.PhoenixAthletes.com The Phoenix Athlete program was started by Floyd Brace Company. The goal of the Phoenix is to allow people to rise to new levels of activity. Like the mythological bird, each of our athletes face a challenge and are encouraged to rise from their situation to new heights. It is our job to give them the tools to reach new levels of p

Our Floyd Brace Trailer was stolen last night. It has a Floyd Brace sticker on the left side and several smaller stickers. It is a 5'x12' bronze/gold color, single axle, enclosed trailer with a drop tailgate. I has quite a bit of our equipment in it that would be useless to most people. Please, if you suspect you have seen the trailer today, message me. I am in the process of contacting the police now. Thank you.
This Sunday 23 May 2016, at James Island County Park, at 7am, three of our Phoenix Athletes will compete in the Sprint Triathlon!!! Ricky, Karen, and Cody will swim, bike, and run to complete their first triathlon in a series of 5. Come join in the fun as they inspire the crowd!!!!
I work with amputees everyday. I see people who's lives have changed in a flash. Those that dwell on what they lost seldom achieve the success of those that use what they have remaining. Our minds have a wonderful power to transform us to be greater than anyone can imagine. It is up to us...to imagine great things. God bless.
Me and the gang at Floyd Brace Company are giving a class in Columbia, South Carolina next week and would love to have some local area lower extremity amputees to work with. The class is from 8 to 5. My portion of the class is amputee evaluation and gait training. I would need you at the YMCA at 1:30pm. Our methods of training are easy, fun, and have proven very successful, with many of our participants moving up an activity level in just a short two hour session. There is absolutely no charge and no commitment. So, whether you are 8 years old or 80, you are welcome. Just give me a call at (843)824-0625 to let me know you are coming. You will have a great time and be over joyed at your accomplishment. I promise.
Check out the latest creation from the folks at Floyd Brace company. Woot woot.
Let's go run.

Today, Ricky Miller competed in his 3rd Sprint Triathlon. Great job Ricky! You exemplify what is means to be a Floyd Brace Phoenix Athlete!!!
Floyd Brace Company Phoenix Athletes are always moving to try new activities or pursuing goals they never thought possible. Don't be limited by your circumstances. Change your attitude and watch your world change with it. There is no limit to the human spirit!!!
Whenever we fit someone with a prosthesis, they will ask, "What happens if I fall?" I tell them, "Get back up, never quit, think about the next step, not the next mile." Every Phoenix Athlete is apprehensive at first. The first few steps, quickly blend into yards and miles. Not everyone will run, but everyone should have the chance to try. Never give up...never!
Get back to doing what you love. Mr. Sanders has done just that. He is secure and confident in his prosthesis and now gets to spend more time with his son. What an inspiration Mr. Sanders is to his community. Happy belated Father's Day!

Phoenix Athlete Jeff Nolan was injured in a work related accident when he was 19 years old. After 17 surgeries and years of living with the pain he decided to have an elective amputation so on March 5, 2010 Jeff became a below the knee amputee. Jeff's amputation closed the door to immobility and reopened the door to his extremely active lifestyle. He competed in his first ever sprint triathlon less than 5 months post amputation and that was just the beginning. Jeff quickly set a goal of becoming an Ironman and in November 2013 he reached that goal. Not long after becoming an Ironman Jeff set a new goal. To represent the USA in the 2016 Paralympic Games in the sport of paratriathlon. Jeff has had an amazing year as he traveled around the United States competing on a national level. We are so proud of this athlete and we know he will accomplish great things in the future! This morning Jeff had the opportunity to compete with the nation's best paratriathletes in the National Paratriathlon Championships in Tempe, Arizona. Jeff had a great race and we can't wait to hear all about it!

Great symposium scheduled in Murrells Inlet on Saturday, 27 September 2014. Would love to have amputees from the Myrtle Beach area come to the symposium for us to show them some cool prosthetic stuff, learn about componentry, and do some higher level activities to increase stability and activity level. The course if free, you can bring a friend or physical therapist. Please let me know if interested. (843)824-0625. Larry
3 years ago the Phoenix Athletes were given an opportunity to participate in The Pound for Pound Challenge. Our group pledged to lose over 700 lbs and were featured during The Biggest Loser! This was such an amazing opportunity to raise awareness for the mobility impaired and those who go hungry in our community! Thank you Lowcountry Food Bank for teaming up with Team Floyd Brace Phoenix Athletes and making this event a success!

Jeff ran a great race this morning! It was a very frigid and wet morning in New York City but all of the athletes pushed through. Unfortunately there were a lot of accidents on the bike as the roads were very wet. Thankfully Jeff did not wreck but the road conditions slowed him down a bit. All in all it was a great race! Congratulations to all the challenged athletes who participated today! You are an inspiration to us all!
It's great to see all of these amazing athletes at the NYC Triathlon!
