The Charleston Miracle League is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that gives children and adults with special needs the opportunity to play baseball, for free, in an organized league on a state-of-the-art field just for them.
The Charleston Miracle League is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that gives children and adults with special needs (i.e. mental and/or physical challenges) the opportunity to play baseball, for free, in formally organized league at a state-of-the-art complex built specifically for them. In addition, the CML teaches volunteers of all ages, who typically serve as buddies for our players, the value of giving back to others and their community.

Our vision of connecting people to water, wildlife and wild places extends to all members of our community, and as wraps up this week, we want to share a resource available to help those with sensory sensitivities have the best Aquarium experience possible.
As a KultureCity partner, we have "sensory bags" available to check out at our admissions gate and information desk. These bags come filled with items designed to help those with all abilities enjoy a full Aquarium experience. Each bag contains noise-cancelling headphones, fidget tools, verbal cue cards and a map of the Aquarium featuring designated "headphone zones" and "quiet areas."
The Aquarium was the first facility in the state to be certified as sensory-inclusive by KultureCity, and we are committed to continuing to make our space as accessible as possible for all individuals!

At the Charleston Miracle League, each player becomes a champion. Confidence builds and self-esteem soars! Our players improve both on and off the field, often translating their new-found confidence into schoolwork and interaction with others. The Charleston Miracle League provides both Youth and Adult player opportunities. Here are some highlights of both leagues:
•NO COST to participate
•Team shirt, cap, player picture cards, and end-of-season memento (typically a trophy or medallion) FREE TO EACH PLAYER at the end of each season.
•Each player hits and scores a run each inning (games last two innings, 45-50min each)
•No formal team practices - just show up and check in 15 minutes prior
•If needed, a player is matched with a 'buddy', who helps the player hit, round the bases and field
