Last weekend the Vice President of our Board participated in the WASZP America Championship held in San Francisco at Richmond Yacht Club. Otto DeMuth who we’ve watched over the years also competed along with Reed Baldridge who helped coach our advanced sailors. David shared some photos of the wings from the Sail GP boats as they got to tour the facilities. So COOL! ✨ According to Loring, “Very impressive event and the kids who won will be the next generation of America’s Cup”. Full write-up coming on our website!
Today we tinkered. Thank you to those who came down to our facility offering ideas, helping on projects and sharing stories. A discussion came up with a long time supporter of what we do for the community and how important it is to provide a pathway for all to have access to sailing. That is our mission and we do provide a unique opportunity to learn to sail at any age and in turn make our area and fellow yacht clubs stronger. Thank you for believing in our mission!
The weather is finally warm and that means it’s time to start getting the Optis ready for summer camp. It will be here before we know it! We still have spots available for our summer programs. We can’t wait to see you this summer!
These days you hear of screen time usage - 20 years ago not so much... Good reminder on why scheduling NO screen time is important and how to break the habit. 🚫 📱💻📺
Breaking the Screen Habit Over the past two years, Americans have leaned on screens more than ever before. The New Year calls for a reset to our screen time habits.
It’s important to test our equipment and make sure all the powerboats are running and to do so at full speed. As coaches we spend most of our time idling around our sailors providing feedback and engines need to be run. Luckily today providing nice conditions to do so 🤙💙
