As renovations continue at historic Mosquito Beach, a new $1.25M grant could help get it done Mellon Foundation gave $1.25M to an help restore Jim Crow-era entertainment destination Mosquito Beach's hotel, restaurant and pavilion in the Charleston area.

Members of the cast of “Gullah Gullah Island” Then & Now (Ron, Natalie, and Simeon Daise) The show ran on Nickelodeon from 1994 through 1998. Through songs & skits, the show exposed the Gullah culture of our beloved sea islands to children across America and was the first cultural children's show of its kind.
