We explored the 4 types of anesthesia, calculating anesthesia time, anesthesia providers and guidelines for reporting anesthesia codes per the American Medical Association and the American Society of Anesthesiologists

Students this week received a detailed introduction to the International Classification of Disease Clinical Modification Version 10 and how a patient's diagnosis correlates to a medical code for statistical tracking regionally, nationally and internationally to the Dept of Health and Human Services, the Center for Disease Control and the World Health Organization. A firm understanding of anatomy and physiology is necessary to successfully report the most specific medical code that identifies a condition.
