Heeyy!! We made it on time for Terminology Tuesday this week... do you know why? Because my clock saying "good morning, it's Tuesday" was my antecedent !
Cory Scott , our student analyst, brings you what an antecedent is and how your behavior is effected by them! Antecedents are cues for you to engage in a certain behavior. It can be changed by many things!! Today, our antecedent for posting Terminology Tuesday on time was an alarm clock. An antecedent to ask for cookies can be the smell of cookies coming from the kitchen πͺπͺ
How do the antecedents in your environment influence your behavior?
Is it Friday already??? Should we do a Terminology Tuesday for self-management strategies?? I think so!
But for now ... the delayed Terminology Tuesday on this Fantastic Friday was brought to you by our student analyst Cory Scott π Cory teaches us the first step to ABA services... pairing! Pairing is building rapport with the client and the family. Building rapport helps create a continual safe space for the client that promotes learning and development because you are paired as something good!
What type of pairing did you do with your friends and family this week that helped you create a safe space?

What makes ABA different then other sciences?? Well our student analyst Alexia Rolland gives us 7 reasons on what makes ABA different then another scientific research article for our Terminology Tuesday...
Within behavior analysis, we make sure that in order to make effective change for our clients and their families is that behavior changed lasts over time, it is socially significant to their individual life, the method of treatment can be repeated, the treatment actually works, data proves what we are using works, the behavior is measurable, and it utilizes actual components of what ABA is... reinforcement !!
Thank you Alexia for helping us the month of February gaining a new perspective on ABA topics!! If you are interested in an opportunity like this, apply at www.teampbs.com to find out how!
What are you doing today?

A fresh start usually means BIG plans and goals for the new year π but sometimes when we make big goals we become overwhelmed on where to start.
Instead, create SMART goals going into the new year π
S - Be SPECIFIC with what you want to achieve
M - Create MEASURABLE goals so you can see progress and know when you achieved the goal
A - Create goals that are ACHIEVABLE. Have a big goal? Thatβs great! Break that big goal down into smaller goals that you can achieve
R - Be REALISTIC with what you want to achieve
T - Set a TIME frame for when you want to achieve your goal
And remember, if you fail, remember there are 365 new chances to try again ππΌ
What are your goals for 2022?
Wishing YOU and happy 2022!
Terminology Tuesday... the last one of the year!! We bring to you the last reinforcement procedure of DRO... This is when if a specific time lapses and the target behavior does NOT occur, the individual receives reinforcement. Fair warning... this may inadvertently reinforce another problem behavior.
Out of all the differential reinforcement strategies, which one seems best fit for you with your upcoming New Years Resolutions??
Have a wonderful Near Year everyone! Love the teamPBS Low Country (Charleston) Family π
