Feast & Flora
A Lowcountry Floral Design Studio

This is my formal request for fewer flowers ON cakes and more flowers AROUND cakes. 🎂

It’s always pride month at F&F 💜🌈

This cutie was delivered to this afternoon, along with so many other dahlia-filled bouquets. These seed dahlias came from a grower in Hollywood this morning, and they were SO fun to play with today. Cheers to flowers and new friends! 🥂

Happy Mother’s Day to all, and a huge thank you to everyone who chose to celebrate the mothers in their life with F&F. 🌷
But most importantly, a huge thanks to MY mama for agreeing to hold off on celebrating until our upcoming beach trip. Because THIS mama is TIRED. 😂

A little color to energize your Monday morning 😘

I have seen, harvested, and designed heaps of flowers, and I think I could make a solid argument for saying that these peach foxglove from are in the top 10% of flowers I’ve ever handled.
Amy has been one of the few farming constants in my life the last couple of years (aka my farming sabbatical), so it was a joy to join them for a little while today to design bouquets for their CSA customers.
There are some days that farming feels like the distant past and others when it feels like I never stopped. Today was the latter. 💜🧑🏻🌾🌞

A birthday bouquet for a queen 💜 👸🏻

Busy week, so praise break 👏🏻💃🏻🌈💘

Hey, lovebirds…there are flowers aplenty this Vday, in every shade of the rainbow because that’s how we roll 🌈🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️

My favorite part of designing a wedding, right here. 🥰
Weddings typically require at least one full day of designing, if not 2-3. It is a LOT of rapidly churning out bridesmaid bouquets and wearables and centerpieces. It’s exhausting stuff, so it probably sounds insane when I tell you that my favorite pieces, what I consider true fine art florals, usually happen in the quiet stillness of the evening.
I’m positive I’m in the minority of designers here, but I feel like I do some of my best work late night in the studio. It’s calmer and quieter, so I can hand-select each stem, wire and tape to my heart’s content with no interruptions, and thoughtfully tuck each bloom into its forever home. It brings me so much joy to put so much of my time, energy, and creative expression into a single bouquet. It makes me feel SO incredibly grateful. All those days of design, never mind the months of planning, are well worth the moments I can steal just for myself and the best blooms I could find.
My studio is my refuge, and we all need a place like that. If you haven’t already, go find yours.
Photo of my bride René’s moody mauve bouquet from last weekend. It’s one of my favorite styles, so I may have obsessed over it just a smidge.

Waiting on their Monday debut. You have a mere 24 hours for orders if you want to fill your table with seasonal amaryllis ✨
