50th birthday celebrations continue!

Doing my pre-tour transition. Somewhere between Corporate Robin and Robin Phoenix: Comedy Tour Edition, I apparently have to change personalities. 😂

One minute I’m talking talent, strategy, pipelines and spreadsheets…

…and the next I’m on a stage making jokes for people who voluntarily signed up to sleep in questionable conditions and call it “training.” 🇺🇸😂

But here’s what I’ve learned:

Robin Phoenix isn’t a distraction from Corporate Robin. She’s a superpower.

Because as different as HR and comedy may look on the surface, they actually have a lot in common:

They’re both about people.

Understanding people.
Connecting with people.
Listening to people.
Making people feel seen.
And occasionally making people laugh when they really, really need it.

And after serving 26 years in the Army, including five l combat deployments, getting to come back and entertain military audiences is incredibly meaningful to me.

Because I know that audience.

I know the sacrifice.
I know the long days.
I know deployments.
I know what it means to miss family.
And I definitely know the dark humor that somehow gets you through it. 😂

So when I get on that stage, I’m not just a comedian entertaining a military crowd.

I’m one of them.

And I don’t see comedy as something separate from my professional life.

It’s another way I connect. Another way I serve. Another way I get to take care of people.

Corporate Robin builds pathways.
Army Robin understands the mission.
Robin Phoenix brings the laughs to those who need it most.

Different stages. Same purpose: people.

And honestly…after 26 years serving our military, getting to stand on stages around the world and give service members a couple of hours where their biggest responsibility is laughing?

That’s a pretty damn good second act. 🇺🇸❤️🎤

Now, if you’ll excuse me, Corporate Robin has an out-of-office to activate.
