My wife's dad James R Watson passed away Monday June 10th at our home that we built together and lived in for the past 6 years, surrounded by his family. He fought cancer hard, but after 10 years he was done. He's finally able to rest until he's awaken with Christ's voice (John 5: 28, 29).

Have a blank wall you can't figure out what to do with?

Tara and I tried pictures, art, decorations... You name it, it just didn't fit.

Then we saw a pic on pinterest (you know how that goes), and the rest was history.

A board and batten design is a super simple way to add style, flair, and depth to a wall that just doesn't look right with any normal decorating.

All it takes is a little planning and you can add simple 1x3 pine boards to any wall and turn it into a focal point in your home.

Tools you'll need:
- Measuring tape
- Level
- Saw (preferably a miter, but any will work)
- Speedsquare (if cutting angles)
- Brad nail gun
- Wood filler and caulk to cover the nail holes and gaps
- Paint (or stain) with brushes an rollers

Today I'm planting some Pink Honeysuckle we saved from the clearance bin. With the hole dug, a little bit of fertilizer and some trimming, this guy should be very happy here. 🌳

Did you know theses things can get up to 10ft wide and 20ft tall?? They are great for fast growing privacy hedges and they are obviously very good pollinator attractors 🐝🦋.

Greatest dog ever! Okay I'm kinda partial, but hey 🤷‍♂️ I stand by it. Marley is a great pup. Through and through. That little runt (Gizmo) behind her is pretty cool too 😜
