Sometimes its the small things that matter most! My nephew was in town on a layover to collect a surfboard from my husband. The board bag he purchased was actually a bit short, so it wasn’t going to provide the proper protection needed for air travel. Lend A Box is a Chantilly VA based business that delivers environmentally friendly plastic moving boxes to our clients before their move or remodel. Once they are done with the boxes, we pick the boxes up, clean them, and deliver them to the next client.

We run daily routes seven days a week. We are looking for someone with availablilty immediately to do deliveries and pickups for an average of 30 hours over the week. There is flexabilty to create part-time morning or evening routes, and to add weekend days to the schedule. Routes run 4-6 hours usually. The actual start times and end times vary from week to week depending on client demand and schedules. Morning routes can start as early as 5AM, and finish mid-day. Evening routes can start as early as 2PM and will typically be done by 8PM.

This job requires you to drive in Washington DC, on the Beltway and toll roads, and in the surrounding suburbs using a Sprinter van or a box truck. You must be comfortable with naviagation tools and driving in the city and on highways. Ideally, you don't mind being on the road or dealing with the traffic, as the majority of this job involves being in the driver's seat. Tight spaces, loading docks, street parking and alleys are all regular places we navigate through.

Also, this job requires a certain degree of fitness - stairs and lifting are involved. Delivery and pickup of our boxes may require the driver to navigate stairs or tight spaces while holding them. This is the perfect job for CrossFit enthusiasts! Usually, this job is a solo effort - a great opportunity to binge listen to podcasts while on the road.

Responsibilities:

Complete deliveries and pickup of boxes and supplies to our clients using company vehicles.
Routes and time schedules are provided by Lend A Box.
Prepare customer orders at the warehouse. Pack vehicles for deliveries.
Unload vehicles after pickups are completed.
Update company CRM with completed customer transactions on a daily basis.
Respond to Lend A Box texts in a timely manner from dispatch and scheduling.

Essential requirements:

You need to be a people person - as excellent client service is our absolute priority! As a member of our team, you will become the face of Lend A Box to our clients.
Attention to detail and ability to solve problems quickly. Ideally, this would be your second customer service based job, not your first.
Ability to be a team player. Our team members work hard while having a great time.
Be at least 21 years old and hold a valid state-issued driver’s license. We do not require a commercial driver’s license (CDL), but you must have a good driving record with no traffic violations in the past 3 years.
Be able to work in warehouses or outdoors in a variety of weather conditions (sunny and humid, rainy, snow, etc.).
Be able to work by yourself or with others.
Be punctual, always. This job is a series of appointment based engagements for the duration of the entire shift.
This job requires you to be on your feet for a good portion of the day. You will need comfortable shoes with good support!
Ability to sit in a vehicle for extended periods of time (up to 8 hours).
Be in good health and able to lift up to 70 lbs.
Own a reliable communication device (cell phone enabled with text and GPS).
Have reliable personal transportation to and from our warehouse in Chantilly VA.
