Pack 577

A NEW Sign Up for participating in Cub Scouts with Pack 577 is TONIGHT at 6:30 PM at Oak Grove Elementary located in their cafeteria.

Hope to see many new faces tonight!

BIG day for Pack 577 today!! Going ONE, TWO at the Atlanta Council - Hightower Trail District Pinewood Derby Championships!!! That has never been done before in my five years of running it.

Sawyer West, (not pictured due to a Science challenge he had to lead) came in first. Jonnie Chizzolin, last year's winner, came in second!

Thirty seven Cub Scouts from fourteen Packs were represented. Thanks Dean White for leading another great event. All claimed it ran the smoothest it ever had!

Definitely one to hang my hat on!!! Thanks Jamie Haynes for taking on the challenge for next year!

We are still on for tomorrow's Decatur Makers Work Shop weekend! I hope the weather is not too bad to open at 10 AM till 4 PM!

I will update tomorrow by 8:30 AM if that changes!

Another GREAT YEAR (2016) has come to a close with Pack 577 and Troop 77! Thank you Chief Silver Eagle - Dan Bridges (Cub Master) and Tom Rice (Troop Master) for your leadership! Thank you Pack/Troop Leaders and Parents for stepping forward in supporting the growth of your young boys. You are planting and tending the seeds of great new generation of leaders!

What a GREAT weekend for Scouting we had!!

Yesterday, Pack 577 Pinewood Derby Winners competed for the Hightower District Pinewood Derby Championship...and all three did quite well!

Logan Schmidt placed just outside of the trophies in 11th place (out of 45 racers).
Sawyer West placed 10th and Jon Chizzolin brought home the 1st PLACE TROPHY!!!

I believe this was the first time in recent memory our Pack winner won Districts! Over 18 Packs were represented!

Thanks OGUMC for giving our Pack and the Hightower District another great year of using the facilities!!

The 55th Annual Pack 577 Pinewood Derby starts Friday night at 6 PM at OGUMC Heritage Hall Gymnasium. Over 176 boys will be dropping their best work down the track till Sunday afternoon when winners will be crowned...and so will the losers!!

The best part is seeing how these young boy's minds work with their crazy car-reations!!

Russell Fair and Bryan Bassett...teach the next generation that gravity too, comes with strings attached that sometimes are connected wrong!

They made it fall...down the track...up in here!! Yeah!!!
