Ta Da!!! 🥰🥰🥰🥰 NOW AVAILABLE!
Such a little charmer! This petite chest just might be the perfect accent piece💕perfect for any farmhouse, beachouse, or cabin. Don’t you just love the raw wood look?? I sanded the entire piece back to bare wood and then reconditioned it with Wise Owl Furniture Salve which seals, protects, and rehydrates the wood. Message with zip code for a delivery quote, dimensions, and pricing.
Sneak Peek— I’ve been eager to try a rustic, raw wood finish and this piece didn’t disappoint! If you love farmhouse, cottage, or coastal you’re going to love this petite chest of drawers🥰

Did you know you can paint leather? Most people wouldn’t have given this cocktail table a second look- it was in really rough shape-but I loved the graceful lines (and storage!) and knew it could be gorgeous again. For $20 I had nothing to lose and I love, Love, LOVE how it turned out! And now I have lots more $$$ to finish decorating my new family room 💕
Pro Tip- Painting a leather table top doesn’t require any special prep. As long as the leather isn’t coming loose just clean and scuff sand and you’re ready to paint.
Tell me you flip furniture without telling me you flip furniture…….. 🤪😆
This is what happens when you have too many projects and no utility sink😆 🎨🔨💪 Pro Tip- Bar Keepers Friend cleaned it right up😊
Do you ever wonder what goes into staging a piece? I use a very similar set up - I painted foam boards which I haul up from the basement, set up the studio lights, move existing furniture out of the way, empty the built ins as I try out 100+ compositions -( any one walking in would think my house had been ransacked). And if you haven't checked out Junkin' Jones Gang you should- she does absolutely gorgeous work!
We returned this beauty to her home in a bit better shape than we found her😜 The room is a work in progress —it’s going to be a beautiful work space once it all comes together. I love that my client chose to refurbish a family piece and I think we nailed the color in the inspiration photo- what do you think?
Sneak peek 👀……….
Another reason I hate batwing hardware— ghost lines- 😣 ugh! I’ve stripped these drawers and sanded with 80 and 100 grit paper but they still show. I may have to bleach the wood but If anyone has dealt with this and has any tips please feel free to drop a comment!
Update: I posted on a furniture refurb group and a friend pointed out that I “wasn’t done sanding” 🤪 so I will follow his recommendations and keep y’all posted!
We delivered this piece today to what might be my dream home- a gorgeous, eclectic 1850’s log cabin on a beautiful farm. This home has it all- chinked log walls, exposed beams, and a red tin roof- perfection! I think it will fit right in💕. Thanks Holly!
New Inventory- this pair of federal style nightstands can be custom finished. Made by Southern Furniture Reproductions, they feature all wood construction and dovetailed joints, and deep drawers. 28”l x 17”d x 27” t. Price depends on finish selected, message for details
I had such a fun color consult yesterday. I absolutely love the bold colors of the inspiration photo from Ballard Designs. After looking at samples of Liberty Blue and Midnight Blue we chose Liberty to transform her desk. The room is small with a northern exposure and Midnight Blue would have been too dark, Liberty will provide the rich pop of color like the inspiration photo. The relaxing view of the wooded backyard will be framed with curtains in one of these lucious fabrics! Can’t wait to get started💙💙
ooo La LA! This gorgeous antique hall table is now available. The rich mahogany wood has been restored with a black wash finish to complement it's age and natural patina- it's perfectly imperfect with a time worn elegance. It was made by the B.J. Company in Jamestown NY in the early 1900's. The lyre base and hand carved claw feet and wings are absolutely stunning!

Take a look at how far this piece has come💕-- I wish I had taken more before photos because it was in rough shape with loose, missing, and chipped veneer and a failing finish. I fell in love with the incredible mahogany wood grain, lyre base and hand carved claw feet. I almost walked away when the seller stood me up and we waited over an hour outside her storage unit-- oh the things we do for love! (this goes double for Eric who was waiting with me😆) Sometimes I have a plan and sometimes I just wing it and see where a piece takes me. Luckily I was able to repair a lot of the damage but it still has plenty of vintage charm. I'd say it's looking pretty darn sharp! Will be available shortly, message for details if interested.
It’s tricky to manage projects when the temps are frigid- I don’t mind working in the cold if only I could find a stripper that does🤪❄️. It becomes a juggling act and Winter means I can’t always work on the projects I want to. Once I get a piece prepped I can bring it inside to finish- doesn’t. Fortunately I was able to strip the chest of drawers before the Holidays but then life got a little complicated (COVID, an unplanned move, unexpected travel and so on!)🤪 and I’m just now getting back to work on it. I also picked up this gorgeous Victorian claw foot parlor table- it’s got some missing veneer and some other issues so I’m still trying to work out the design to save some of the wood grain💕
Neutral doesn’t have to be boring and white! Between the clean lines and warm, deep neutral paint this piece can be used just about anywhere- in a nursery it will grow with your child from toddler to teen. The color is sophisticated enough to use as an accent chest in an entryway or beside a sofa.

Life in Northern Virginia- short sleeves yesterday and snow boots today❄️. All my plans of getting the shop organized and getting back to work today have been put on hold. Is there anything more peaceful than watching a fresh blanket of snow fall? Today my biggest accomplishment might just have to be getting out of my pajamas😜❄️☃️
I wish you all a safe, healthy, and happy New Year!
As we close the chapter on 2021 (thank goodness- loosing Betty White was the last straw😢) I thought I’d take a look back at some of my favorite transformations this year.
Which one is your favorite?
And it’s a wrap for 2021! We delivered this beautiful piece back to my customer this morning just in time for Christmas. I am so incredibly grateful for all of you have followed along and supported my business this year💕 We are going to unplug and spend time with family and hope you are able to do the same!
Just like your favorite little black dress, this Ethan Allen bar cart is ready for holiday entertaining🥂. You’ll love the versatility of this piece, it’s only 36” wide so can be tucked in anywhere but extends to 60” when needed. Plus it’s completely finished on the back so it can be used anywhere. The original brass wheels were cleaned and polished to match the new Italian brass ring pulls.
Delivery available to Northern Virginia/Metro DC area
Dimensions 36”/60” w 19” d 30”h
Starting my final custom piece of 2021🎉 It’s a solid, well made dresser but that orange oak has gotta go. We’re going to give it a complete makeover with a new stained top to better coordinate with other woods in the room. The drawers and sides will be coal black and we’ll tone down the brass hardware with aging wax. Good quality furniture is so expensive and can take months to get- transforming what you already have is a win win- better for the environment and your wallet!
I’m also working on a final spec piece- a server/bar cart- just in time for holiday entertaining🥂🎊🥳 and a semi custom piece from my inventory.
Update-- Bookcase is sold! Nightstands Sold!
In honor of small business Saturday I’m offering 20% off all finished inventory through December 4th! I am so grateful for all my followers who like and share my posts and of course, for all my customers who make it possible for me to do what I love- thank you!
Delivery available to Northern Virginia and greater DC metro area. Message for dimensions and more photos
Thanks to all my loyal peeps, and now, trusted advisors 😜 who helped pick the finish for this gorgeous bookcase! I (we!) chose the black washed finish which shows off the gorgeous details and overall vintage goodness. It has a timeworn elegance that will beautifully showcase your collections whether they be photos, china, or books. More photos in comments.
$350 Delivery available in the DMV area
Dimensions 44" w x 15" d x 52" h
My friend Amanda Dillon makes the most amazing goats milk soap and look how cute they’re packaged- they’re perfect stocking stuffer size. The work of artisans and craftspeople isn’t sitting in cargo ships- hit Amanda up for soaps, jewelry, and crafts!
Bookcase Update- 2 steps forward 1 step Back
The only thing more annoying than paying $40 for 8 ft of pine is cutting it and finding out it’s warped. And that nice sales person even double checked and assured me I had picked a “good one”…….🤪🙄
AND the only thing more annoying than that is being almost done and noticing rings coming through the finish🤦🏻♀️ so I started sanding it back but ran out of sand paper for my fancy pants sander. I’m not sure where the rings came from but I’m guessing that when I was using a mixture of denatured alcohol and lacquer thinner to smooth out the alligatored finish I left the jar on the surface and it was enough to show through the paint-dumb move.
Every project has twists and turns- some more than others LOL but it’s going to be gorgeous and available soon!
We delivered this piece yesterday and I'm thrilled that it's going in my customer's nursery- how sweet is that? I love that they chose to help the planet by buying vintage💕 Thanks Maribeth!
If it looks a little familiar you're not seeing double- I posted it last month but I didn't love the hardware that I had chosen. I found these awesome bin pulls at my favorite hardware source, D. Lawless Hardware and knew right away that they were perfect. I ordered them on November 3rd, they were delivered the 6th, I put them on and restaged on the 12th and sold and delivered in on the 15th-- BOOM! It sold before I even had a chance to post it here! If you need new hardware for furniture or cabinets be sure to check out D. Lawless Hardware - their selection, prices, and service can't be beat.
It all started with Grandad’s rocker. Or was it Grandma’s bed?? Either way, a few years ago I found myself with a basement slowly filling up with inherited furniture, pieces that held sentimental value but just didn’t fit in with my decor. I started reimagining, refinishing, and finally using these pieces. By the time I ran out of my own furniture to refurbish I was hooked. I love nothing more than finding vintage pieces that have seen better days and bringing them back to life. Finding those diamonds in the rough is almost as much fun as making them shine.
Turning Tables Studio was officially born when my husband remarked how I am always turning beat up tables etc into beautiful furniture. With our nest slowly emptying, I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to find and pursue my passion. I can custom paint any furniture whether it’s yours or mine so take a look around and don’t be afraid to ask any questions.
Just for fun.......
