Moot Court is one of the only two credit-bearing honor societies at Touro. It is coveted by many litigation-focused employers because it sharpens both persuasive writing and oral advocacy skills.

For the fall semester the Moot Court Board is sending three teams out to compete (WIN). Our first team competing submitted their brief Monday. These fierce competitors have already begun work and preparation for oral arguments in October. Congrats and best of luck to Dana and Jessica, and coach Greg James.

As the end of the semester draws near, our Board is pleased to announce great accomplishments in our final two competitions:

On March 24-25, we sent two teams to the Nassau Academy of Law & NCBA Moot Court Competition. Congratulations to competitors Kathleen Garveson and Jessica Semins who worked hard to prepare for this competition and did an excellent job presenting their arguments! Congratulations to our second team, competitors Joice Avila and Tiffany Galvin, who advanced through to the semi-finals and received constructive advice from each of the Judges! Together these two teams, under the excellent advisement of Coaches Jason Prince and Brian DiPentima, represented Touro well!

On March 28, competitors Barry Crane and Beau Taylor put forth incredible arguments at University of Buffalo’s National Criminal Moot Court Competition. Congratulations to Barry and Beau who advanced to the quarter-finals receiving recognition for each competitor’s command of the problem and knowledge of both the facts and law. Thank you to Coaches Hanna Kirkpatrick and Jeannea Baptiste who worked diligently to help prepare this team for such great success!


A very special CONGRATULATIONS to competitors Dana Mangiacapra and Irene Gaye for their incredible accomplishments at the Capital University Moot Court Competition in Ohio!! These girls worked tirelessly under the profound advisement of Coach Erica Meyer, and advanced all the way to quarter-finals! Each competitor was also highlighted in the competition for their dedication to the problem and passion for the arguments! We could not be more proud!


The Board is proud to announce that this weekend Jaclyn Castrogiovanni and Gregory DeTolla successfully argued three rounds in the 23rd Annual St. John's Duberstein National Moot Court Competition! Although the team did not advance, both competitors received exceptional recognition from a panel of esteemed judges in the first and second rounds. Jaclyn and Greg worked diligently to prepare for this competition with significant advisement from Coach Ashish Walia. We are very proud of their performance and extend our congratulations to the entire team's profound efforts. Great job Touro!


Congratulations to Stephani Schendlinger, Michael Spinelli,and Catherine Breidenbach who put forth outstanding arguments this weekend at the Pace Law School Environmental Law Moot Court Competition. We are extremely proud to announce that our team received distinguished accolades from the judges, and Michael and Stephani each brought home a Best Oralist award! A special congratulations to coach Alyse DelleFave who diligently helped this team to prepare for such success!


We are very proud to announce that competitors Sidney Goldstein and Melissa Eisenberg did an amazing job at the Whittier Law School’s National Juvenile Law Moot Court Competition in Whittier California this weekend! Not only did our team advance to the quarter finals, but both competitors took home a best oralist award. Melissa won 8th best oralist, and Sidney won 1st best oralist! A very special congratulations to both Melissa and Sidney for their outstanding performance and to coach Brandon Maharajh who worked tirelessly to help prepare our team for this incredible success!

[02/03/15]   Congratulations to our NBLSA competitors Antwuan Gavins and Gabrielle Cleaves who competed in the Frederick Douglas National Moot Court Competition this weekend and advanced to the final 16! Antwuan and Gabrielle did an amazing job and secured Touro’s first advance in this moot court competition. Coaches Frances Bowdre and Cybele Louis worked hard to prepare our team for the competition and deserve special recognition for their incredible efforts! Way to go Touro!!


Join us in congratulating Jason Prince and Brian DiPentima who competed in the 32nd Annual Chicago Bar Association's Moot Court Competition this weekend! Under coach Sidney Goldstein's incredible direction, our team did an outstanding job during the preliminary rounds receiving accolades from the judges for their excellent command of the case, knowledge of the law, and control of their arguments. Additionally, Brian won a Second Best Oralist Award! Great job Touro!

[11/11/14]   Today we welcome our newest Moot Court members Tiffany Galvin, Irene Gaye and Beau Taylor! All three new members showed dedication and passion at the Bainbridge II Competition held yesterday. Congratulations to Tiffany, Irene and Beau on their accomplishments!

We also want to extend a very special thank you to our amazing alumni for volunteering to serve as judges on the Bainbridge II Competition panel. We are grateful for your participation and welcome every opportunity to grow under your advisement. Thank you for everything.

[10/17/14]   Competitors Erica Meyer and Hanna Kirkpatrick, together with coach Mickelle Damassia, arrived at American University to compete in the Wechsler First Amendment Moot Court Competition this weekend. We are proud to announce that after successfully arguing in the preliminary rounds, our team has advanced to the octofinals! Join us in congratulating our team and wishing Erica and Hanna the best of luck tomorrow at octos!


Congratulations to Melissa Eisenberg and Darren Stakey for their impressive performance at the Regent University Constitutional Law Moot Court Competition this weekend! Melissa and Darren had the highest brief score in all four preliminary rounds and advanced to the quarter finals. Special Congratulations to coach Ashleigh Televandos who worked hard to keep this team on their toes! You all made us very proud!
