The program will feature Nancy Goldbach ’90, who works with the Tort Division; Bridgette Nunez-Figueroa ’16, who works with the Special Federal Litigation Division; and Ryan Nasim ’16, who currently works with the Labor & Employment Law Division but has also worked with the Family Court Division and the Tort Division. This is a great introduction to the diverse litigation work of the New York City Law Department for students and alumni interested in government work and litigation!

The NYC Bar Association is one of the most active bar associations in the country, and offers its New Lawyer Institute during the summer and fall each year. This summer, programs are being offered in a virtual format, and students and alumni are encouraged to participate in these unique professional development and networking opportunities, even if you are not a member of the NYC Bar.

Though the Summer Series programs will be held as Webcasts through Zoom, opening with a panel presentation and then break out into Zoom Rooms for networking with the panelists. Below is a list of the programs in the series.

2020 BootCamp:
The Annual BootCamp will be held on November 4. The program may be able to be live at the Great Hall of the NYC Bar Association, but with all the uncertainty, they will also plan for this as a Webcast. The City Bar's annual BootCamp: Basic Training for Lawyers program is a full day that provides recent law graduates and current law school students with career planning information and skill building. The programming focuses on helping attendees assess their skills, assess the market and get practice ready.

In addition to the programs described above, the New Lawyer Institute includes personal assistance with committee placement, One-on-One Mentoring, free access to the City Bar Speaker Series, and Small Group Mentoring Circles.
